On Spa 73, we play a continuous flow of hip, soothing, spa sounds with absolutely no interuption. From Moby, Dido and William Orbit to Enya and Yanni to B-Tribe and Enigma, you'll hear it all here. This week, we've added new releases by Johannes Linstead, Soulfood, Blackmore's Night, Benise, Fred Lykes and Vargo.
Spa 73 is my no. 2 preset. I tune into this station when I go to sleep. It's the most relaxing station Sirius has and it provides great background music when reading or doing work.
Now I'm not a huge New Age fan, I wouldn't be able to indentify artists or songs, but there are some fans of the genre that don't like Spa 73 because they say it's not real New Age music and there's too much repetition. And I agree, I've heard the same song many times, but it doesn't bother me too much. As far a staying true to the genre, I have no clue.
This channel is perfect to relax to! Sometimes, after a long day of work, I like to turn The Spa on during my commute home so I can clear my head before reaching my driveway. It's not my favorite channle, not by far, but it does serve a purpose.
I actually can provide some feedback on this since just last week I was looking for a good station to turn on low while in bed. I Remember Spa 73 being mentioned on Howard a while ago, and checked it out then, and knew it was a slow easygoing relaxing channel, but only listened for 45 seconds, and that was that. but Like I said, the last week I tried it and it worked great. Two nights later I told my girlfriend I turned it on after she leaves for work and I go back to sleep, so that night we turned it on before we both went to bed, and ever since we've been turning it on each night to fall asleep to.
A great channel that I just discovered, great for relaxing at night to with the lights low, or off completly to fall asleep to. Defiantly a good station when its needed.
I listened to this channel for an hour yesterday. It's better music than I thought it would be. I only knew one song -- "Chariots of Fire".
With all the people saying that this is good music to fall asleep to, I propose that Spa 73 come with a warning label -- Operation of a motor vehicle is not recommended while under the influence of Spa 73.
Good channel, but not a preset for me. I may tune in every now and then.
THis is a preset of mine along with Chill. I use it mostly for my 1 year old son. Nap time, or when he should fall asleep in the car it goes on. I probably would not have listened to it before WTD if it wasn't for him. However, I do enjoy it, and find myself listening to it when I want to relax.
Last week, I said that the music on Area 33 was my least favorite style of music, even worse than New Age. Well, I was wrong. New Age is officially my least favorite. I can't stand it. To me, it's not relaxing at all - it's grating. I honestly find Buzzsaw more relaxing. Not for me.
sox - you're doing a great job running the Walk the Dog segment here - very well done! But the last two weeks have been a challenge. How about rewarding us by picking a cool channel next? Something like Underground Garage, maybe?
I enjoy this channel. I'll be back often. This is a good station to listen to while I'm online. I don't usually bring the boombox with me when I sleep, but I can easily use this as night music as well.
I had no idea what to expect when I tuned into this station. I had never listened to "new age" music before. I was VERY surprised. I really enjoyed this station. For the hours that I listened to this station last week, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was great to have on in the background at home in the evenings or at work, and it was GREAT to have on at night when I was in bed. VERY enjoyable. I would make this a preset.
