Some good music on Revolution. I remember when they first added this channel (only last year...). A lot of people found that they liked the music on this channel, even though they didn't listen to Christian music.
I listen every ones in a while. Great stuff. My sister like this stuff more then me...
I listened to Revolution for the first time today since it hit the satellites last September. I wasn't terribly impressed then, but I thought I'd give it another chance for WTD.
It wasn't bad, just not my thing. The music sounded like something that would be played on Alt Nation or even Octane, but I'm not a very big fan of either of those channels, either. I did hear a song by Relient K (I think) that was about Charles in Charge that gave me a bit of a chuckle. But other than that, everything sounded a bit generic to me.
Another thing I don't like about Revolution is that it's just a jukebox channel without DJ's or much in the way of personality. I know there are a lot of people who don't like DJ's, though, so that's just a personal preference. Also, I see a lot of room for some cool specialty shows, like a christian metal with bands like Demon Hunter, Zao, Norma Jean, etc... or an indie rock hour with bands like Starflyer 59, Morella's Forest and Joy Electric. I think stuff like that could add a lot.
However, I think a station like this could be a great selling point for youth pastors and the like so they could have a good christian rock station for their youth groups while at summer camp or on trips in the church van. I know I would have preferred something like this over the Petra, Amy Grant and PiD that was always blaring when I was a kid on church trips.
I'll listen a bit more tomorrow, but I doubt this will become a preset. I don't think it's bad, it's just not for me.

Not bad, but wont make it a preset for me. If I cant find anything on my presets, I may stop on this channel for song while searching through, but not a channel I check out frequently.
I listened to this station for a while, quite a bit of good songs on here. So I could listen to this station again, when I'm in the mood for this type of music! But some artist on here I do like Creed, Live, P.O.D., U2 etc. Maybe down the road if I enjoy it more, I probably could create this as a preset?
Revolution rocked more than I thought it would. I'm impressed at some of the music being played here, but a lot of times, I find that "the message" gets lost in the music. I agree with Dr. Octashawn's post that this channel would really benefit from having DJ's.
I'm glad Sirius has this channel, but it won't be a preset for me.
I don't completely understand how this is Christian music. It sounds kind of like Octane, but I guess the themes are a little more positive. And when they play U2, it really sounds out of place. Is there a big market for this music rather than what is played on Octane?
Revolution is an interesting station and one that I'll have to spend some more time. I don't like all the songs, but I really like some of them. The Christian stations are a very strong part of the Sirius lineup as XM dropped their version of this station from the satellites.
I was shocked when I listened to this station for this week on WTD.
Much like a couple of weeks ago with Praise on WTD, I was somewhat impressed. I had NO idea what to expect with Revolution this week, and I am still confused!
Firstly, I was impressed with this station. I really was. I was shocked at what "christian rock" is. This was MUCH heavier than I thought, and it was great. It was heavy for me, but not too heavy. I was listening for hours at a time, and I enjoyed the sound and the format.
However, I am confused to actually what Christian Rock actually is. I thought this would be 'preachy' but it wasn't. If I didn't know what this format was when i was listening to it, I would have never guessed it was anything to do with "christian" music. I thought a couple of the songs by "jonah33" was pretty good.
Overall, I was impressed. I will be back and would certainly consider making it a preset.
Apologies in advance for the story, but here goes:
Back when I was in college, I was in charge of the college radio station's "Dance System," and when not DJing college functions, we made ourselves available for outside dates. One contract we had was for "The Fifth Quarter," a dance held after every football game the local high school played, at a Presbyterian church adjacent to the football field. The second time I worked this function, the pastor asked me if I could work more Christian music into the mix. This being 1991 or so, there really was not much in the way of Christian music you could play without clearing the dance floor. Michael W Smith was pretty big but I couldn't bear the guy's voice. Amy Grant was doing secular stuff at the time, and Styper was long over. Having attended a Christian college, we did have some albums in the archives that I managed to find some danceable tracks on, but not enough, apparently. The kids were way more into "Naughty by Nature" and the like, so generally I obliged.
"Revolution" plays the music I wish had existed at that time. Would have kept me from losing the "Fifth Quarter" contract.
Being a youth minister, I'm glad that this type of music exists where it didn't really when I was a teenager. As far as "Revolution" goes, I don't really listen that much, although I think it's good. I guess you could say, I appreciate its being there.
