Spirit is probably the best contemporary Christian music station I've heard. I can't stand our local Chrisitian station as they seem to overdose on the "safe for your family.." line over and over. I also can't stand the commercials for Christian mortgages and the like.
Spirit gives us the music. However, I don't like their bumper stick type comments interspaced between songs at times.
While I like 80% of the songs, the ones I don't like tend to be very bad indeed. There is a lot of Christian music out there that is just terrible. Take a bad love song and replace 'baby' with 'Jesus'
I usually listen on Sunday mornings. I'll put it on every now and then during the week.
Spirit has been a pleasant surprise for me. While I am not familiar with much of what I've heard, most of it sounds good to me. I find that I like Spirit more than Praise musically, and I like it more than Revolution because "the message" is not as hidden.
I was glad to see that Spirit has DJs.
Spirit is my least favorite of the Christian stations. Praise makes me feel much more uplifted, and I much prefer the style of the music on Revolution. I guess I just find much of the music on Spirit to be very bland, styles I wouldn't listen to if the songs were secular in nature, and don't enjoy here either.
I can definitely understand the appeal of this channel. I think the message is very inspirational. However, musically it was a little too bland for me. I'd be more likely to tune to this channel than Revolution, but I don't expect to be back.
I didn't enjoy this selection for WTD. Praise, was a welcomed surprised when I listened to it for WTD, and I was really impressed with Revolution when I heard it. I will be back to Revolution. As for Spirit, not so much. I suffered through it for my weekly listen. It didn't do it for me, and I won't be back.
