Default Making normal Sirius & XM radios into portables?

I'm looking at this and am interested, but I don't really trust eBay. It describes that you can put in 2, 4 and 8 AA batteries with a antenna included and it'll make your normal radio (like a Starmate Replay) into a portable one. Scam? No Scam?

Take a look: http://cgi.ebay.com/XSTAR-makes-Siri...QQcmdZViewItem

Not a scam, but more like a kludge. What's being sold is a battery holder and a voltage converter to power a standard PnP receiver, a case to hold it all, and some cables. It'll certainly work, but the downside is that the the PnP recievers were designed under the assumption that (1) there's plenty of power available -- something not at all true with battery power, although with rechargeable batteries the primary limitation is just play time and (2) the antenna sits on a large ground plane with a clear view of the sky -- not true if you're just walking around with the thing.

In other words... if you have to have a semi-portable Sirius radio now, the product seems solid enough and the asking price is reasonable. However, once the *real* portable Sirius radios come out in summer, I expect this guy's sales will dry up pretty fast... assuming that product works a little better than the S50, of course.
