Default Artie Lange...Liar?

When this first came up, I was hoping it was true because I'm really an Artie fan, after taking a few years to get used to him. However, today, it was revealed that Artie lied in the past when it came to telling his story about that kid he "adopteded". Artie tells such great stories that it almost leads me to believe maybe it's not the first and only time he's done this. If so, that sucks out loud. I think everyone glossed over it way too quickly...I just hope that the Minor Salvazar (or whatever his name was) story was an isolated incident. Gray really sounded annoyed when he had to correct Artie.....Wonder what Howard is thinking about this, too.

Artie is great at the art of storytelling. I'm sure some of his stories are a little "embellished"

I think Artie's insecurity causes him to "embellish" stories that are already entertaining.

Well, saying that someone may be a "liar" is a little harsh, and especially considering the person involved here. Artie is an unusually "open" type of person. That's why he fits with the show.

What was said that made you think he might be lying about this? I didn't hear it.

When he told the story about sending money to an impoverished kid in South America in the past, he ended it by saying that one day the kid showed up at his apartment delivering weed.

It always struck me as a joke. Even if it wasn't is it that big of a deal? If only we worried about our politicians veracity this intently...

This just in...Artie recants MadTV coke binge-pig suit story as a wacky fabrication in an attempt to win the job of Jackie's chair, Jimmy Kimmel, Craig Gass and A.J. Benza are outraged by the lingering thought of what could have been.

I heard that selling weed part and I didn't take it seriously at all. I don't think he meant it to be serious.

"Anybody here, seen my old friend A.J.
I think there might be somthing wrong
Last time I saw him, he was in the hallway
Punching stuttering John

Anybody here, seen my old friend A.J.
You know he was acting kind of wacky
I heard he might be out there, flippin' burgers
With Dice Clay, the Jesus Twins and Jackie"

Well I either forgot or never heard the first telling where the kid was delivering weed. Ok, so it was obiviously a joke ending and not true (although I guess it depends on how he told it). Liar is very strong, then.

I agree and again, I must have glossed over that part because the way Gray addressed Artie made it sound like he was pissed that Artie lied....Maybe Gray's memory isn't that great with the details.

Ah, I thought there must have been some type of misunderstanding. I couldn't figure out what you could've been referring to.

Artie friggin rules and is at his funniest on the show. His stand up isnt that great but he rocks on the show.

Artie is a great story teller. Most people who are really good story tellers embellish a little. Its usually what makes them great story tellers... In fact, I remember Artie "coming clean" about his revelation of getting "a load on him." He said a couple of weeks afterwards that he embellished that story a little bit, but swore the critical part actually occurred.
