DJ-ing on SIRIUS is an awesome gig by any standard, but Dave Mac confesses that being on the radio wasn't his first ambition: "As a kid, I dreamed of playing in the NBA, and after the career-ending knee injury at age 12, I took up his other passion: music." But he takes a zen-like attitude when discussing the mishap: "My life is full of joy as a result, and this, plus my family's whacked sense of humor, makes me what I am today: a crazy freak for the 'blue notes' in music, and a radio fan who is fortunate to be living his dreams, and finding new ones to follow." He continues: "Is this a bio? Probably not, so just in case the nice people here at the website wanted something else, I've been working in the music and radio business since high school and I've interviewed tons of celebrities and even jammed with a few as well. I never plan to grow up."

Dave's first radio gig was reading the "Lost And Found Pet Report" over bed music played by "Earl the Banjo-Pickin' Chicken." It was on a country music station that will remain nameless. Happily, things got better from there: Dave ended up with SIRIUS, where he DJs on three different channels. He describes himself thusly: "A crazy freak for the 'blue notes' in music, and a radio fan who is fortunate to be living dreams, and still finding new ones to follow."

Dave has always wanted to be on the radio: "My parents tell me that I was mimicking the top of the hour ID on the local TV channel when I was five." He adds, "Good thing, too: I think I've burned all of my connections at the fast food joints!" He did, in fact, do time working at fast food joints, but those jobs were a cakewalk compared to his former farm gig. "Shoveling manure and other various jobs around the barn!" Well, it ain't time on a chain gang, but it still qualifies him to sing the blues. Or at least play classic blues records for you, every day on SIRIUS Blues.
