From Knowledge Base
DJ on: 60s Vibrations Weekdays 12PM-6PM ET
DJ on: 60 // New Country Weekends from 12:00 Noon to 6:00 PM Eastern.
The first concert Jim ever saw was the Motortown Revue at the Fox Theater in Detroit, December 1968, featuring The Temptations, Gladys Knight and The Pips, The Miracles, Stevie Wonder and other Motown artists. His second concert was The Monkees at the Olympia Stadium in Detroit, 1967. If he weren’t a DJ, he’d be a very unhappy person.
Jim Kerr was only 14 when he landed his first on-air radio job at a country music station in Ypsilanti Michigan. Exposure to the great songs and artists of country music turned the teenage DJ into a lifetime country fan. When he was 15, he lied to his parents, telling them he was saying overnight at a friends, instead he flew to Nashville and attended a performance of the Grand Ole Opry. His parents never found out. A long time NYC radio personality, Jim was the morning DJ on NY's only country station for over 6 years. He is a proud member of both the NY Metro and New Jersey CMA's.
