Sirius Canada

Sirius Canada is a joint project created by Sirius Satellite Radio, Standard Broadcasting, and the CBC. It aims to bring satellite radio to the Canadians. The CRTC gave it approval with several conditions. One of them is that there needs to be 1 Pure Canadian content channel for every 9 US channels. Sirius launched Sirius Canada in late 2005 with 100 channels, 90 US and 10 Canadian. In 2006, they added a national Canadian weather channel, allowing them to have 110 channels in Canada. Currently there is talk that they will add two more Canadian content channels, allowing them to air almost all of the Sirius America lineup.
