Do you have a bitmap to use? You need to create one in photoshop. You then use this program to convert it to one that can be used as your wall paper or DO NOT DISCONNECT bitmap for your S50.

For Example:
Here is the one that comes with the S50

Here is a customized one that you can create

Send me a PM and I wil email you you some sample bitmaps already created that you can use to convert and put on your S50.

You might download the manual and read it over first.

Inthe manual you describe the reasons for format issues but not the resolutions.

I get the 16bpp issue.

The error is "Index was outside the bounds of Array"

What do I do to make this work?

I'm not quite sure I know what error you are getting send me an email with a print screen of the error. Did you save as a 16bit bitmap in photos shop with the flip row order checked as described in the manual?

If you send me the bitmap I can run it in the debugger and see what the issue is.

Thanks,

Mike

I sent you the file with the header fixed. Apparently your bitmap is missing part of the header which tells me how large the data portion of the structure is. It is zero'ed out. I can calculate this based on the width and height which is correct. I had to do something similar with the bitmaps I am reading from the S50. I'll fix it in the next version.

What version of Photoshop are you using? I have tried it with Photoshop CS Version 8.0 and Photoshop Elements Version 2.0

Thanks for getting me the bitmap. This is real life testing. Kind of like the way they must test the firmware... (Grin)

Apparently Photoshop 7 was the problem. I used CS and it worked fine. Thanks.

Glad you found a solution. Please share your customized bitmaps here. Others would like to see the results. I'm also collecting samples if you would like to share them.

Mike
