Default roughing the passer penalties

these refs are getting out of control with the way they are calling these penalties. They are absolutely killing the game. Might as well strap red and yellow flags to their waste.

Default Roughing

I saw on the CBS pregame today about this issue. Here were the stats the were presented:

2005 Roughing the passer penalties: 70
2006 Roughing the passer penalties: 72

2005 Sacks 870
2006 Sacks 872

So to this point in the season there are no differences between what has happened this year and what happened to this point last season.

it was a joke last season too and in order to make a fair comparison between this season and last you would need to look at each individual penalty.

I'm sure many would agree that there have been atleast a few roughing the passer calls that made you shake your head.

They are calling bullshit calls, a few weeks ago against the Cowboys, Peyton Manning was brush by a lineman that tried to hold up and even though Peyton did not go down they called pass interference on that play.
