Default Stiletto 2: How to Correct Channel Names & Logo's

If you listen to one of the channels currently effected with the wrong Channel Name/Logo here is a simple solution. To correct this problem you want to add the effected channel as Presets on your device but not in Satellite Radio mode.

Here's what you need to do:

1.) Enter Internet Radio Mode.
2.) Choose the specifically effected channels; 32, 24, etc and add them as Presets.
3.) Now switch back to Satellite and check your Presets. You will have the correct Names & Logo's.

My Presets show Channel 32 as Grateful Dead Channel and have the correct logo. My preset for 24 has Lithium and the correct logo. Once you tune to the Channel it will not show the correct info in Sat. mode but this makes it much easier to find the correct Channel to begin with. This is being discussed in a separate group but I think it's worth mentioning here because it's effecting more subscribers then I realized and it's fixable with the SL2. I want to make sure this information is easily obtained without shuffling through a dozen posts. I also want to say that although I find this to be a minor cosmetic issue it has become increasingly clear that this situation is causing tremendous confusion amongst new subscribers.

Has anyone else tried this yet? I know it works on the SL2 but I'm wondering if it works on the SL100 as well. Any comments would be appreciated!

Did it work for you on your SL100? I would test it on mine but I forgot it at my sister house last weekend. I know it's working great for my SL2 though.

I used Lithium as my channel to change. I already had it saved as a preset, so I saved it as #7 in Wifi mode. I switched back, and the old preset #4 still has the generic "Sirius" logo. #7 has the Lithium logo on my list of presets. When I listed to it though, it still shows "Sirius". Weird.
Thanks for the tip!

That's exactly the results to be expected and I'm glad we can confirm it works with the SL100 as well! First, you can change preset #4 and delete #7. When in Satellite mode it will still show the updated logo/channel name. Once tuned into the channel it will revert to the generic logo and name. The purpose of my post was in response to folks saying they were getting confused trying to find their channels. This fixes that aspect of the concern but does NOT resolve the issue once tuned to the channel effected.

Thank you again for testing this out with your SL100!

It's all good. I knew this worked for the SL2... I'm hoping to get my SL100 back Sunday and I'll try it with that. Thanks for verifying it works on the SL2 though!

Well maybe I am doing something wrong, but I can't get this to work on my SL2.

I do not get the correct logo, what is I get is just the SIRIUS Dog Logo. I've tried it several times!

I have come to the conclussion that we will never see the screwed up channel names fixed. I have had my sl100 for about 8 months now and am tired of hearing, just wait it will happen. I emailed customer service about the problem and was told that I needed to call up and have a new signal sent to my sl100 to have the problem fixed. So this tells me that person has no idea what I was even talking about. I think Sirius owes us this update and if it isnt Sirius that does the updates then they need to put their foot down and have Zap do it. My Jeep has a factory radio installed and That also has the wrong channel names such as the bridge and disorder in the wrong places so this isnt just a stilleto problem. COME ON SIRIUS GET WITH IT.

This would be very simple to fix, all they need to do is a channel mapping update. It would take about 1 to 3 minutes for each tuner to get the channel mapping update. This would solve all these issues, but for whatever reason they simply will not do it. Apparently they don't give a crap that the information on the tuners is wrong!

Tell you part of me really hopes this merger doesn't get approved, because with SIRIUS in charge the XM side will become just as poorly operated. Right now in regards to support and system managment XM kicks SIRIUS ass!

DAB, I'm shocked that your SL2 wont do this. I have been able to get this done on two SL2's. Any chance you could try again? Like for instance, if you have Channel 24 as a preset, delete it, switch to WiFi and add it as a Preset again? Because right now were confirming other SL2's can do this.

Just tried it again and what I get is the dog logo and that is it. I also got my son to try it on his when he came by at lunch today and he gets exactly what I get the dog logo. If you read back JKoffler appears to get the same thing I do, unless I am misunderstanding his post.

Just for the heck of it I deleted the presets and then tried again. Same thing. Generic Sirius Dog Logo!

I did this last night with Lithium. It worked. I now see Lithium when I am browsing my presets.

DAB, are you sure you are looking at the preset list? Once you go into the channel, you get the dog and the "90s Alternative" name.
