“Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll!”

Mark Goodman, Alan Hunter and Nina Blackwood, along with Martha Quinn and the late J.J. Jackson, were the five original faces and voices of MTV when it debuted on August 1, 1981. 25 years later, Goodman, Hunter, Blackwood and Quinn are together again spinning their favorite decades hits and sharing pop culture history on SIRIUS.

The four will share their memories of MTV’s launch and play songs from the videos the then-new cable channel aired during its first few hours of existence. Said Mark Goodman, “We all knew we were part of something really cool, really fun. I never imagined that we were part of something that would change pop culture forever.”

SIRIUS adds Imus to line-up

I thought this Press Release was about Don Imus when I first looked at it. Fred Imus, brother of Don Imus, has been given a 4 hour show Saturday mornings on Outlaw Country // 63. Fred’s Trailer Park Bash begins May 6 at 6am ET. He will broadcast his show from his trailer in Tucson, Arizona.

Outlaw Country creator “Little Steven” Van Zandt seems excited to have Imus as part of the talent on the channel. “Most sports fans know Fred Imus for his good looks, but for us he’s a triple threat,” said Van Zandt. “First, trailer park fans across the country finally have a representative they can be proud of here on SIRIUS; second, his presence will raise the average IQ of our jocks 25 points; and third, I expect our female listenership to go up by 50% within weeks.”
