Singer-Songwriter Jack Johnson on SIRIUS
Wednesday, January 30th, 2008Singer-songwriter Jack Johnson sits down for an exclusive interview with SIRIUS Satellite Radio to discuss his highly anticipated new album Sleep Through The Static. During the interview, Johnson shares with listeners his inspiration for the album, and touches on other subjects including his life as a parent and his new “green” studio where the album was recorded.
Jack Johnson also treats fans to an impromptu acoustic performance of the album’s title track, “Sleep Through The Static.”

Jimmy Dickens on The Roadhouse SIRIUS ch. 62
Monday, January 28th, 2008Country Music Hall of Fame inductee and Grand Ole Opry host Little Jimmy Dickens will guest DJ on SIRIUS Satellite Radio’s The Roadhouse music channel. Jimmy will spend an hour playing his favorite songs and sharing funny stories behind his own music including his sixty years performing at the Grand Ole Opry. Little Jimmy Dickens Guest DJs In The Roadhouse airs Friday, February 8 at 3 pm ET with encores on Saturday February 9 at 12 pm ET and February 10 at 5 pm ET, on The Roadhouse SIRIUS channel 62.
The Roadhouse is the place to hear where it all started. From the Grand Ole Opry to the Country Music Hall of fame, listeners will hear nothing but the classics from country legends including Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Waylon Jennings, Tammy Wynette, Conway Twitty, Patsy Cline and many more.
Ringo Starr on SIRIUS Tomorrow
Thursday, January 24th, 2008SIRIUS to broadcast LIVE from “Liverpool 8” record release party featuring a performance from the music icon.
Legendary rocker Ringo Starr sits down for an intimate interview with SIRIUS Satellite Radio host Meg Griffin to discuss the making of his latest album Liverpool 8. During the interview, Starr also discusses his early musical influences and favorite drummers.
Immediately following the interview, SIRIUS will broadcast live from the Liverpool 8 album release party at LA’s House of Blues. The event will included a performance by Ringo Starr and Dave Stewart, the albums co-producer and half of the British music duo, Eurythmics.

Sheryl Crow to Take Over the Spectrum ch. 18
Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008Multi-platinum and Grammy® winning artist Sheryl Crow will take over SIRIUS Satellite Radio’s The Spectrum channel. The exclusive five-day special will feature Sheryl playing her favorite music including a track-by-track preview and in-depth discussion of her new album Detours (A&M/Interscope) in stores February 5th.
Among the many tracks on the album, Sheryl discusses how “Lullaby for Wyatt,” a song about her son, “…really informed this album. There’s an urgent feeling about what’s going on in the world. This song is really about, as a parent, you just want to protect your children from the pain that they’re going to ultimately experience in their lives.
During the take-over Sheryl also performs songs from Detours and some of her classic hits at SIRIUS’ studios. Sheryl Crow’s Spectrum will kick-off on February 4th at 7 am ET and run through February 8th on The Spectrum channel 18.
Sheryl Crow catapulted onto the global stage in 1993 with her debut solo album Tuesday Night Music Club. The album sold over six million copies and won Sheryl three Grammy awards including “Best New Artist.” Since then Sheryl Crow has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, received nine Grammy awards and collaborated with renowned artists including Kid Rock, The Rolling Stones and Willie Nelson. Detours is Sheryl Crow’s sixth studio album and was recorded on her farm in Nashville.

Elvis Radio, SIRIUS’ channel dedicated to the music and legacy of Elvis Presley, will celebrate the 73rd anniversary of Elvis’ birthday with exclusive live broadcasts from SIRIUS’ studios located at Graceland. The channel will feature live coverage from the steps of Graceland for the traditional birthday ceremony. This year’s celebration will include Priscilla Presley sharing her personal thoughts and memories of Graceland and Elvis.
Elvis Radio will also have special programming leading up to Elvis’ birthday celebration with special guest hosts, interviews, and exclusive live coverage from various events throughout Memphis honoring Elvis Presley.

SIRIUS Satellite Radio Celebrates The Life Of James Brown

SIRIUS Satellite Radio will celebrate the life and music of James Brown as the first anniversary of his passing approaches. SIRIUS’ Soul Town channel will feature James Brown songs and interview clips hourly throughout the day on December 22 beginning at 1 pm ET on channel 53. On December 23, beginning at 12 pm ET, the channel will also play listener comments on the legacy of late Godfather of Soul.
Soul Town is SIRIUS’ channel dedicated to the great soul hits from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Listeners will hear the legends of classic soul including Marvin Gaye, Barry White and Gladys Knight.
November to be “Duran Duran Month” at Sirius…

Sirius has announced that Duran Duran will be a featured artist during November with a slew of special programming across a number of channels.
Highlights include:
- A Takeover of Super Shuffle for 3 days (11/13-15) as “Red Carpet Radio”
- Track-by-track discussion of their new album on the Pulse (Today)
- A one-hour career introspectective on First Wave.
- The band playing some of their favorite songs on Big 80’s daily at noon.
There will also be Punk and Reggae specials hosted by the band.
Shade45 to celebrate 3rd Anniversary

Shade45 is rumored to be celebrating its 3rd anniversary with replay of it’s inaugural program on Friday, Nov. 9th at 6PM EST. I seem to remeber that lots of members here praised the program when it first aired (but I can’t find the thread.)
