Not many outside of Ohio like the Buckeyes, but always have pride in your team! Wear your colors proudly. The majority of schools, including Michigan, would do anything to be in Ohio State's place... at or near the top every year.

I can not wait for college football!

Geaux Tigers!

Your really gonna love me now Texas boy. Not only am I a Cub fan but Notre Dame is my favorite college football team.
I am going to South Bend in a few weeks to see the Irish play the Aztecs from San Diego State. I am not optimistic. Go Irish!

We have something in common...I grew up a huge Notre Dame fan. My grandfather has been going to games in South Bend for 40+ years. He just recently sold his season tickets, because he's getting too old to make the trip (from Detroit). He's gotten to see guys like Joe Montana, Tim Brown, and Joe Theismann play. And trust me, he tells me all about it. I was lucky enough to go to one game when I was really young...I don't remember much of it, but it was when "Rocket" Ismail was there.

So if Texas Tech and Notre Dame were to ever play (BCS game this year, perhaps?), I wouldn't know who to root for.

ND should be better this year. They were very, very young last season. Clausen should have a much better season (hopefully). Their schedule is actually pretty easy, for once, relative to what it usually is. I see them winning about 8 games and going to a decent bowl.

You must love seeing Jeff Samardzija pitching for the Cubs.

My dad grew up in Newark, Ohio before he moved to Detroit...so naturally, he's a huge Ohio St. fan. For whatever reason, I've always hated the Buckeyes...probably something to do with the whole father/son rivalry thing. That, and I guess my grandfather (mother's side) got to me first with Notre Dame, like I talked about in the previous post. That Fiesta Bowl from a few years back really hurt. My dad now has bragging rights until they play again.

Thats not entirely true. Ohio State has one of the biggest if not THEEEEE biggest alumni associations in the country. In San Francisco there is a sports bar that is nothing but Ohio State. Alot of alumni there go to watch the games. Arizona has a huge Ohio State fan base too. It's not just Ohio.

The college football season is finally here! Not any marquee match-ups tonight, but hey, it's still football. Wake Forest is the only ranked team in action as they go to Waco to play Baylor. ESPN and ESPN2 are broadcasting NC State @ South Carolina and Oregon St. @ Stanford. Really looking forward to Mizzou and Illinois this weekend.

I can't wait for that game too. Its nice to have football back. I can't wait to be in "The Shoe" on Saturday. I hope Pryor gets in. I can't wait to see what the kid can do.

I have to admit I enjoyed Ohio State Beating Notre Dame. The only reason I say that is because I work with a Notre Dame fan that is such a prick. Anyway I think Ginn had a great game.

I hear Tressel is going to get Pryor some playing time on Saturday. Might as well let him get his feet wet, since it's against Youngstown St. He'll provide a nice change of pace this season whenever he comes in for Boeckman.

I'll be at the game in Lubbock on Saturday for TX Tech's opener (I hope it doesn't rain like it's supposed to). I know, it's only Eastern Washington...it'll be over by halftime. I'm thinking they'll put up 70. I wish Tulsa hadn't backed out of their game with us this season.

"I know it was only Baylor, but we were impressive last night. Very impressive. You think Clemson and Virginia Tech are worried? They should be."

LSU-APPALACHIAN STATE FOOTBALL GAME MOVED TO 10 A.M.

BATON ROUGE - Gov. Bobby Jindal and LSU officials decided shortly after noon Friday to move Saturday's scheduled 4 p.m. football game between LSU and Appalachian State to 10 a.m. because of the expected strength and path of Gustav.

"There will be no pregame festivities and fans are encouraged to leave the stadium after the game as expeditiously as possible," LSU spokesman Charles Zewe told Gannett on Friday afternoon. "The game will be at 10 a.m. The governor and LSU officials agreed that because of overriding safety concerns, they had to change the game time."
LSU president John Lombardi, new chancellor Mike Martin and athletic director Joe Alleva were present at the meeting.

"Traffic contraflow could begin through Baton Rouge as early as 6 p.m. Saturday," Zewe said. "The storm could be major and hit south Louisiana."

Jindal had said late Thursday afternoon that the game was on for 4 p.m. Saturday, but added that that could change on Friday, which he said was the deadline for deciding the status of the LSU game. A crowd of more than 90,000 is expected in Tiger Stadium while a total of 120,000 would be on the campus likely during evacuation from New Orleans and other areas.

"I want to emphasize that our first concerns will have to be our people's safety," Jindal said Thursday.

Col. Mike Edmondson of the Louisiana state police said on Thursday that it would it be very difficult to have a football game while heavy traffic evacuation is going through Baton Rouge.

"It's LSU's call on any postponement," Edmondson said. "We can make a strong recommendation."

I hope Gustav weakens and misses you all. Good Luck.

Saw Terry Hanratty, Coach Parseghian. Stayed with my brother while he studied in dorm next to Golden Dome in early 1970's. Tim Brown, Ross Browner, Vegas Ferguson.
Your grandfather sounds like a great guy.

Go Cubs!

LSU is looking good after 39mins. Too bad the game is on ESPN Classic...

I'm watching the Virginia Tech/Eastern Carolina game. VTech is only up by 7. They're not looking too good...

I hope I can watch the Tenn/UCLA game on Monday...
