I hope the Playboy rumor is no more than a rumor. It sounds like a waste of bandwidth to me, just like Maxim is. I want dedicated music channels for funk and new-age, not some lame implimentation of porn on the radio...

As expected, no changes to getting more trance. Well whatever, at least I can listen to tons of great vocal trance at work thru Digitally Imported.

No I don't, I guess that is one thing we have in common.
Har! TX, sometimes you kill me.

Back to the topic - pretty much a snoozer of an announcement from XM.

I can't believe its over money.
We're the only thing on XM making a profit.
And they never once complained about content to us.

They must have had another reason - only they know for sure.

Oh, and more fuel for the fire..

Guys,
You people make me want to cry.
I never imagined such an outpouring of support and loyalty.
Even though I know its mostly for the girls, I am just absolutely
blown away.
We're only 1 station out of 200 you subscribe to on XM.

I wish I could tell everyone everything right now.
As soon as I can, I will.

In the meantime I'm going to stay as active on the board as possible
and try to answer questions.

I don't know how true it is but I heard a rumor that XM got almost
4000 cancellations in the past 24 hours.
I also heard it was the first day in their history when their
subscriber numbers actually went down.

On a personal level, I 've had nothing but the best relationship with
the execs and staff over there. I own two XM radios myself. And I
wish them well.

I apologize for the O/A spots that are running.
It's clear everyone hates them and his pissed off. I begged XM not
to do that -- told them it would backfire.

Thanks again, and remember our new motto.

Don't miss us, Come with us.
No one has confirmed yet where folks need to go to "come with us". Looks like you can read into it enough though.

good. now sirius can have the premium packages that so many dissed XM for having.

And By the way.. there was another person making similar claims that he was doing the same for XM... his Name was Jim Phillips.

I just wonder if this board will now all of a sudden start praising playboy radio if its on sirius...

Don't do it Sirius, I wonder what it means, but have a hard time believing it is coming to Sirius especially without a premium cost to keep just anyone from listening.

It won't be a "premium" on Sirius if it does come. pbradio has already confirmed that it will be freely available. Read over the first thing I quoted before..

I think their only legal obligation would be to mark the channel as having adult content, then it is up to parents to make sure their family members that they don't want to have access to it to listen. The other thing is that Sirius can turn on or off this channel per the subscribers request. If you ask for it, then you take responsibility to insure that those that shouldn't hear it don't. They only difference between that and making it premium is there is no charge to the subscriber.

soxnationonline, your XM bias is shining through, because the only response I have seen are those saying they hope it doesn't come. I don't think you'll see people happy about having the PBC, but if it does come it probably won't be Premium, so your statement inferring that those of us that made a to do about XM doing premiums won't eve come into play.

I highly doubt that the Playboy channel had close to 400 subscribers let along 4000. Must of cost them next to nothing to produce if they can claim they actually made money Obviously just a bunch of BS coming from some PR guy.

Yet we acquire Martha and Richard Simmons?

There's an audience for every talent. Just because you may not listen doesn't mean the audience isn't there.

I`m just saying the the pourpose of Playboy is to SEE naked women, not HEAR them.So for me what would be the point of listening to playmates?
