Default XM's New Talk Channel: FOX News Talk

Just notice it says.... XM is the "FIRST" to offer Fox News Talk...

Not sure if this is really necessary if they still carry FOX News Channel and the select shows available on this Radio Network.

Sirius could use this channel to replace Sirius Right (just kidding...sort of )

XM Satellite Radio First to Offer 'FOX News Talk' Radio Channel From Coast to Coast

New FOX News Talk Channel Set to Air on XM Satellite Radio in January 2006

WASHINGTON, Oct 18, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- XM Satellite Radio (Nasdaq: XMSR), the nation's leading satellite radio company, will expand its talk radio programming with the launch of FOX News Talk Channel in January 2006.

The new channel will offer news, analysis and commentary from FOX News personalities Bill O'Reilly, Tony Snow, John Gibson, and Alan Colmes, among many others. FOX News Talk is the latest addition to XM's robust line-up of talk radio programming, which offers a broad variety of news, information and opinion. Additionally, it will give listeners another chance to hear the primetime FOX News Channel programs, including The O'Reilly Factor, Hannity & Colmes and On The Record with Greta Van Susteren.

Kevin Magee, senior vice president of FOX News Radio, said, "We are very pleased to partner with XM Satellite Radio. This provides another opportunity to expand the FOX News brand and to reach our growing audience across multiple platforms."

Eric Logan, executive vice president of XM Satellite Radio added, "FOX News Talk is an important addition to XM's talk radio channels, as we strive to offer the most choices to our millions of listeners across the country. FOX News Talk offers some of the best-known names in broadcasting today, and we look forward to launching the channel on XM in January."

About FOX News Radio

The network also offers one-minute and five-minute newscasts and breaking-news coverage to affiliate stations nationwide along with three weekday talk programs, The Tony Snow Show, The Alan Colmes Show and The John Gibson Show. I may have to keep my XM account on if Sirius doesn't pick this up too.

I'll go out on a limb and say this is NOT an exclusive deal. First, Sirius and XM agreed to not make exclusive content deals anymore...that is why you they make deals to have exclusive rights to use logos etc. for sports.

Also, the PR says that XM is the "First" to offer FOX News Talk Radio.

I believe the agreement between SIRIUS and XM was only for automobile manufacturers. They wouldn't sign anymore exclusive agreements with them... never heard anything about content though.
