Default First XM Holiday channel hits the air the 13th

'Holly' will be the first channel on the air. XM 103, not sure what its replacing yet. Also hearing US Country (XM 17) will be replaced by 'Country Christmas' and Special-XMas will be making a return.

No truth to the rumor that the first christmas channel will be introduced in July next year.

Holly will be replacing the channel "U-Pop 29" and I am looking forward to it as holly is one of my favorite holiday channels, never really cared for U-Pop anyway, it will run until Dec. 27 then switch back to normal u-pop programming.

I don't think officially. Orbitcast got something off a myspace blog. Weak.

Thanks What Orbitcast has listed looks a lot like what they offered last year. Holly coming on the 13th, now that will put some steam under Sirius's butt. LOL

I guess you could call this official.

No word on what else is being replaced other than XM Pops, US Country and U-Pop.

They must have just put that up recently, i've been checking that link since the new website went live (it was there for 2005 under the old site design).

Chances are that's all they are replacing--they don't usually replace any more than 3 or 4 channels and put up 5 or 6 so it's safe to assume they are only replacing the 3 they mention.

And can I just say thank God they aren't replacing the System this year! WOO HOO!

Holly on XM 103 has started today and I'm listening to it now via my receiver. This is a pretty good channel playing a mixture of both contemporary and traditional holiday recordings. Can't wait till the other ones come on Thanksgiving Day. These channels may be faamillair to XM'rs from last year, but they will be new to me this year. By looking at the full holiday music list on XM, the one new channel is Radio Hanukkah. I never heard Hanukkah music played on the radio before. But I'll give it a little listen to see what it's like. It is not on the page linked by another poster, but click on to full channel link on that page and you'll see it there on the bottom of the page.
