Default I have to admit, becoming very interested in the ZUNE

Maybe it is just because I love getting the newest thing but the black Zune player looks really sweet.

I have no use for it, I certianly don't need it and I can't imagine a world where I would need 30 gigs of music, but the Zune looks really sweet.

And yes, just the other day I declared the Zune a waste. I've changed my mind.

The Zune may have a pretty interface, but it will never be an iPod. Nothing will ever have the same success. Also iTunes is hands down the best digital store/player for music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, and music videos.

Just my opinion.

Our son was heavily enamored by the Zune when he first started reading about it in mid-Oct, was asking for one for his b'day in late Oct to replace his three year-old iPod. When he learned he would have to rebuild his music library from scratch, he lost interest. We ended up getting him a new 30Gig iPod, with which he is most pleased.

I think the Brown Zune looks pretty nice. I have to admit this; I chickened out on the Zune and went with the Black 80GB iPod. I think eventually the Zune will give Apple a run for their money but I'm going to wait and see what the next two generations of the Zune look like. I have 62GB of music and the 30GB Zune wasn't going to cut it. Zune looks promising though.

Double e: what do you do with 62 gigs of music? Where did you get 62 gigs of music?

I load like 15 songs on my stiletto and erase 5 within a day because I know i'll never listen to them.

Wow. that is a lot of tunes.

First of all my files are fairly large (AAC format @ 256kbps)

Secondly I have collected a hell of a lot of CD's over the years.

Lastly I have a great library system that has a really good collection; especially jazz CD's.

Last count:
7355 songs
24.5 days worth of music
62.51GB

Seven days, nineteen and a half hours. At least you didn't spend money before you lost interest.

An entire generation of kids is going to grow up with a collection of stolen, compressed, lossy music stored on cheap gadgets made in China. That is, unless they lose their gadget, or it breaks, in which case they'll have nothing.

Sigh...record collections used to be so cool.

I have 62 gigs of music at 128 Kbs, it allowed me to get rid of all the CD's that I had not listened to in years. Having them on the computer is much easier to listen to.
