Wow... Stern really seems to be sticking it to his fans at this point! First, they have to pony up $12.95 to hear him on Sirius come January. now, they have to pony up $10 to see him on tv. Sure, the uncensored shows should be much more appealing to his fans than the censored radio/tv shows of the past... but going from free to $22.95 per month is a tough pill to swallow. I'm sure he's making huge money from both deals, but it'll be interesting to see how many of his fans come along with him. I'm hoping he at least brings a large percentage of his radio fans to Sirius

I for one am glad he's doing this. I was really wondering how he was going to pull off his radio show while having to worry about content for TV. I felt that he wouldn't "let loose" because he'd always worry about his TV show. Now he can do anything he wants and it will make it uncensored on both radio and TV.

I don't really know anything about In Demand. I have DirecTV and am pretty sure In Demand is a cable thing only. I currently download Stern's radio show off usenet. They also post the E! show on usenet. I'm sure this In Demand show will be on there. So, I'll probably just download it if I can't get it off DTV.

I would like to see his new episodes, but I don’t mind paying 12.95 for listening him and for all the other great programs on Sirius! But once he starts on In Demand, I will give it a shot. But depends on how much? I already pay high on my cable bill!

My cable bill is way too high! As much as I enjoy aspects of Stern's show, I'm not going to invest in INDEMAND. I enjoy HS on radio moreso than TV. I'll stick with HS on Sirius.

Exactamundo! Thank gawd for News Groups! I get all my PPV fights off of there, and I know that i'll be able to get Stern's In-Demand show that way, too.

Isn't it ironic his radio show will be on satellite radio but his TV show will not be on satellite tv?

Is it true that InDemand is not on satellite TV?

In Demand runs PPV programing for digital cable systems, like Charter Communications where I live.

Default Cable pay-per-view

In Demand Lands Stern SVOD Coverage
Cable pay-per-view provider In-Demand Networks said it gained exclusive U.S. rights to televise Howard Stern and his show via subscription video-on-demand. The show will consist of the shock jock's presentation on Sirius Satellite Radio, which he's set to join in January 2006.

The three-year deal also grants In Demand the rights to Stern's remaining shows while he's still broadcasting on terrestrial radio.

In Demand said it has reached SVOD agreements with Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Cox that allow their operating divisions to offer the service via SVOD. In Demand said it will negotiate with other providers for additional distribution.

Will this at all be competition for Sirius? Will people who don't have Sirius but have cable with InDemand possibly decide to spend the $10/month instead of the $12.95/month because they'll actually get to see the nudity? Sure they won't get the whole 4 hour show, but how many people really are able to listen to all 4 hours a day anyway? Just a thought...

I actually listen to the entire show, but I download it off usenet. I listen to it at work. So, I can pause when I have a meeting or go to lunch.

I download the version that is posted in 30 minute increments as the show airs. I start listening to it when I'm getting ready for work in the morning and finish around 2:00 in the afternoon. It's nice too because I can skip the 20 minute commercial breaks.

It is quite possible that InDemand will broadcast all 4 hours. I suspect it will be delayed though. I can't imagine that InDemand will make much off of this deal. That may be wishful thinking though. Wishful because I'd like to see it show up on HBO or Cinemax.

this is just my guess. but since the stern show will be at sirius studios i would think sirius would have a revenue sharing deal on stern show.
