Default SFN registration - new member process 30 posts/30 days WTF

I just registered and TRIED to post in certain forums but I was not allowed to until I've been a registered member for 30 days and make a minimum of 30 posts or pay a premium of like $20 I think. LMFAO. Ridiculous. Now, me and other SFN noobs will make 30 useless/waste of bandwidth posts...usually just one word posts. Insane.

It's how they do it. I guess it keeps noobs from spamming the board.

I've always thought this was a pretty good idea, especially when it's a site like that that is in great risk of being overrun by trolls.

I know. It has more fucking rules than the fucking SATs and is nearly as expensive! It's a fucking message board, nothing more. They need to get fucked with that bullshit! The restriction from certain boards is absurd!

I disagree; I see it as a way to force noobs like me to spam the unrestricted forums with the required minimum 30 useless posts.

It's actually not a bad idea - it keeps trolls off the board fairly well. You still need to wait 30 days regardless of your 30 posts, so it works. The real problems with SFN have been documented here (and everywhere) many times over. You have to be careful what you say there, you can't really criticize the show or anyone on it, a lot of posters there just respond with curse words or sarcastic pictures to a lot of threads, and that's just for starters. For an "official" board, it's very political.

Watch what you say? You're being kind. If you don't have the same opinion as the people who post there, you're done. Here's something to think about:

Remember when Howardstern.com had the message boards? They dissappeared really quickly as soon as people started mocking Howard, or more specifically Beth. Censorship/hypocracy anyone?

At that time SFN wasn't acknowledged by the show due to Howard having his own board. SFN was much more liberal back then. Once Howard realized SFN was posting negative things about the show, he did the one thing that would guarantee positive spin - he acknowledged them on the air
Once that happened the people over there acted like little girls who just had their crush say "hi" to them. Howard read them like a book, but face it, fooling those dipshits can't be that difficult. After all, what can you say about grown men who openly worship another grown man

I would answer that, but I wouldn't want to put down either the gay or mentally challenged community.

I only registered on SFN to request the Elliot Often "Live and Let Die" song parody. I actually emailed Dan the Song Parody Man and he replied! Nice guy. He suggested I try SFN since he can't give out his clips.

Actually $25 minimum for 6 months. You are upgraded to a SFN supporter and you get all the access and allowed to start threads.

So much of the SFN is wastless posts. I think the 30/30 rule contributes to this. But that's what makes it fun. Actually this forum is starting to get more and more SFN ish... Yo, Who's Dis? Hey Now! All that is missing is a sticky photoshop thread and someone to start the Monday Morning my F*#K'n S50 did not record again thread.

Yes, acknowledging SFN and Mutt is his "mike walker insurance".

LOL!! The "conspircy nut" in me always suspected Howard gave Mike Walker that feature to prevent an Enquirer scoop about Howard's divorce. The Gossip Game started right around the time Howard was secretly seperated from his wife. If you recall he waited almost a year before announcing he split with his wife after they actually seperated and with all those young starlets Howard later talked about (before Beth), The Enquirer probably cut a deal to not print the story.
