Default The Ted Kennedy voice gets a little old

I rarely bitch about the show because I love just about all 5-6 hours of it but sometimes Howard can really drag out the Ted Kennedy voice. It's funny for a minute or so but usually he does it a little too long.

But I do love everytime Robin mentions any news story about Iraq or India or anything with the middle easy in general, Artie always puts on that horrific stereotypical accent and says "Yes."

I can listen to that megaphone all day long....even longer when it starts to fail on him and everyone else has moved on and you hear BANG BANG BANG in the background.

It's like STERN, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING???? STOP IT!!!

CLASSIC!!!!

Love the megaphone. I can imagine Artie is just smiling when it malfunctions.

Me too! Whenever I hear that megaphone, I know I'm gonna be laughing. The fact that they drag it out is half the fun, they'll try to associate every news story to drowning a whooore. It's partly just to mess with Robin, IMO. They love to try and throw her off and she just keeps rolling on...

And then Howard's imitation of an old Italian woman starts sounding like Borat...then like a Saudi...then a black man.

Oh my god soooo funny.

I love it. It's Howard and to a lesser extent Artie and this time Gilbert, at his/their best. It makes the news more fun. I just hope Howard can get his megaphone fixed. I'm sure a fan would do the job for free! Certaintly beats not to subtly plugging FHM nearly all show today. It's shit like that which caused my listening to become very sporadic (for instance, I was shocked to hear that Fred's daughter was 4....I could've sworn that she was born last year!).

The great thing about the megaphone, whether it's Ted Kennedy, Dana, or Grandma Caprio, is that it's Howard at his best: riffing, ad-libbing, action and reaction, prodding and pushing. Like the classic Cookie Puss bit, this is the good stuff.

I love it...The Ted Kennedy bits are the best. Especially when Artie is in on it.

A couple of months ago I pointed out that after Johnny Fratto had done a few phone ins and then visited the studio that Howard was unintentionally mimicing Fratto's 'wise guy' voice. Howard had done the same thing earlier in the year with George Takei. It lasted for a few days, but no one here really agreed with my take whole heartedly. I hear the same thing happening again and I'm glad you mentioned this because Howard is mixing his Borat with Grandma Caprio.

Not a big deal, just something Howard does from time to time.
