Default The Chamber Brothers - "Time Has Come Today"

Yesterday, Howard campaigned for a new opening theme--"Time Has Come Today," the 1968 Chamber Brothers hit. On today's show, Howard said the response was overwhelmingly opposed to the idea of changing the song.

Personally, I love the idea of using "Time Has Come Today." I think it was a smart choice by Howard. The mood of the song, the lyrics, the pacing...it's perfect for opening the show. I guess I'm in the minority and the opening theme will stay the same. I actually think the Zombie song sounds more dated than the new suggestion.

I agree the tone and theme of the song is fitting, but it's too slow. I get a little adrenalin rush when I hear the Zombie song knowing the show is starting and the tempo fits that and feeds it.

Yes, the tempo is slower, but the song is very energizing and motivating. For me, it's a more appropriate song for 6 o'clock in the morning.

These days, the Zombie song sounds to me like a song for an angry 15 year old.

But no problem either way. I'll be fine with the same theme song for however long Howard decides to keep it around.

I like the idea of the "Time" song too.

Howard needs to just do what he thinks is right and stop listening to the callers.

If Howard had followed the opinion of callers for his career we never would have heard of him.

Trust your gut Howard.

That's funny The Chamber Bors were just on a station in LA yesterday, talking about how they're reuniting. I'd never heard of them before. wacky.

Rob Zombie is a nice wake up. Granted I don't start listening until later in the day. Keep Rob.

Howabout that jazzy intro he used in the 90's?

Time Has Come Today is a terrible choice. Leave the Zombie song.

Personally I'd rather see the closing theme changed....let's face it, Howard is hardly a "tortured man" at this point. "My Way" by The Sex Pistols would be more appropriate.

It could be that he raises these issues from time to time to encourage participation from listeners, make them feel part of the show. If he really felt strongly about changing the theme, he probably would.

That's why the word "campaign" is a bit strong. He brought up the topic for consideration is how I would characterize it.

Before Private Parts he had a nondescript instrumental opening. Wayne probably knows the tune.

In the grand scheme it is only important to listeners who like to jump in and express themselves on topics like this.
