Default I've Got to Get A Life (Other than Howard Round the Clock)

When I first got my Sirius radio I listened to Howard at breakfast and then off and on at work (at low volume). Then I got a Whole House FM Transmitter. After that I began to listen to Howard replays on my Walkman in bed when nodding off and then whenever I woke up during the night. There are no distractions or interruptions at these times. In the middle of the night you hear every word of every bit. Early this morning I caught the entire ex-con beauty contest. Although I had heard parts of it previously during the day, on this hearing I could appreciate the genius of Howard in drawing out all these women's stories and the contributions of Artie and Robin. I've really got to get a life.

I does get crazy. I have to make an effort to get through both Bubba and Howard's show every day. With Howards show sometimes going close to 6 hours, it's tough to fit in 8-9 hours of radio everyday.

Yes, it is very consuming. I record the East Coast show to my S50, listen to the last hour or two live and then try to finish the rest of the show over the course of the day. If I manage to listen to it all, then I listen to Breuer Unleashed on the way home. I have a scheduled recording at 9PM to catch the late specialty show on 101, but I rarely go back and listen because the Bubba replay starts right after that. listening to the Bubba replays on the weekend used to help me thru the replays but I've gotten so hooked that I listen to most of the shows during the week now so I'm back to hardly anything new on the weekends.

So there's basically a 2 hour window in the evening before 9 that I'm not listening and the intermittent times I turn it off at work. Even when I go to bed, the unit is on to try and catch some MyChannel music and to be ready to record at 3AM.

Comparatively, I pay 4 times more for DishTV and there's 3 hours a week that interest me (Heroes, Lost and Prison Break) and those are all on broadcast channels anyway. I would add time for watching football, but there's only one person that is less interested than me in the Raiders season this year and that's Randy Moss.
