Default The Vegas shows...what a waste!

So I guess they decided to the last time they went to Vegas. The episodes are so short it's insane....no wonder they liked the shows...it was a huge party and they were barely on the air! What do they do on Thanksgiving and Friday if this was only a three day event. It just sounds like they couldn't make five MTT's happen....pretty sad and lazy!

Shows are short I not a big road show fan it is funny to hear Howard say he would surely be fired something he did a lot of course it never happened Clear Channel did drop him in 2004 but the other networks like Citadel drop him only after he signed with Sirius. I think he was hoping to be fired & still be paid so he could get working on the Sirius show. During friday's MTT Robin read a story about abortion & the Catholic Church & Howard said with the church's decision saying if that's the religions rule you have to follow it this before the show was on a lot of markets so the religious zelots started causing trouble he wouldn't say that today. He's changed his stance on a lot of things over the years.

First off, whoa...not that I'm one to comment but that whole thing looks like all the emails I've got from people trying to rent my room! Second off, his point about aborition is that if you are going to consider yourself a Catholic, in the strict definition, you have to obey those stupid rules (I'm not sure if that's what you're suggesting). It's not like Howard was a religous zealot back then. All of his comments on the news were a lot more forced for comedy, it felt, and not his true reactions to them. Remember when he had to think of something when it comes to the pledge of alleigence. It seems like he wanted a comment on everything even if he didn't mean it. I do agree he has changed his mind on a lot of issues.

The problem with all these shows is that they are too damn short. If they wanted to do a Vegas week so bad, they showed have done all the Vegas shows.

Monday - 2001
Tuesday - 2002
Wednesday - 2003
Friday - 2004

That would have been ideal, but I'll be damned if they would actually put some effort into producing these old shows and making them worthwhile.

remember, there was 22 minutes of commercials per hour... Here is the math..

240 minutes
-88 minutes of commercials (22m/per hour)
=152 Minutes (2.5 hours)

The Artie drinking segments were funny. I can't wait for the Miss Butta-Face contest tomorrow.

OK, it's time to remove the bag... OHHHH! Gasp gasp

I think the one I am most looking forward to is the Karaoke show. You know, the one Artie doesn't remember doing?

I am loathe to mention mathematics and Stern, but I will "add" something to this post. Almost every one of the audio files that I have that are commercial free Stern shows run between 3hours and 3 and a half hours. I think your math is a wee bit off.

I'm not sure if the math is correct here or not, but the idea is right. There's only something like 6 minutes of commericials an hour on Sirius. So if the show runs 6 to 10:30, it's going to be a hell of lot longer actual air time wise than the old shows that went from 6-10:30 and had 20 minutes of commericials.

You see, I'm not sure if Mrb42 is being case specific or if he's generalizing. I haven't gone through the replay show of today, I was refering to the length of shows from those years. They were, when all of the commercial time is squeezed out from them, about 3 to 3 and a half hours long.

Loved hearing these shows again.... There are pictures. That's how I discovered the "big joint" (aka SFN), I was curious about Howard's and other's descriptions of some of the Wack-Packers. The SFN album has slideshow capabilities... There are other Vegas related slideshows there, as well. I chose pg. 7 as a starting point in the 5/12/04 Vegas album since that's when pictures of the stage started.

I'm curious about something maybe someone else can answer. At the "big joint," there's a Vegas 2003 Gallery - but I've never heard a Best of or replay of a Vegas 2003 show. I wasn't a Howard listener until late 2003. So how come no mentions of Vegas 2003? Did something happen in Vegas that needed to stay in Vegas? :P It would be nice to hear some of the Vegas shows from previous years.

To see other albums...

I'm being general... he didin't hit 22 minutes till close to the end of his contract... but let's face it, there was a lot of damn commercials back in those days... don't forget the live reads as well (which I can't remember if he was doing during the Vegas shows or not..) some people count them as show, some as commercials.
