If being on more days made you talented, college radio DJ's would be making millions. Like I've said before, even if Howard took off 25 weeks a year, he's still putting out the best show on radio and O&A are not even beating Imus in their own home town. They are getting a 0.8 in Detroit and a 0.3 in Chicago. O&A (and you, by way of the talking points) should worry about living up to the "we're sitting in his chair now" statements before they ever compare something as trivial as schedules. Shit, Howard's only on 4 days a week and 42 weeks a year and he's already generated around 8 times as many paying subs (per a conservative report) as O&A have attracted people in NY to listen for free. Considering NY is the biggest market in the world and they aren't pulling near those numbers in their other markets, them claiming to "have more listeners than Stern" even now is quite a stretch. So blow it out your cakehole and come back in and troll when they can beat a drooling, doddering old fool.

NY Talk - Average listeners:
1. Limbaugh 342,000
2. Hannity 322,900
3. Curts/Kuby 318,600
4. Imus 279,600
5. Gambling 257,100
6. Levin 245,700
7. Opie/Anthony 197,100
8. Savage 175,600
9. O'reilly 157,800
10.Ingraham 127,600
11.Al Franken 122,300
12.Randi Rhodes 115,300
13.Lionel 86,700

Good idea. Not all of us have memorized howard's vacation schedule because well, it seems sort of pathetic.

Cool

Jeez people.... Explore the rest of what Sirius has to offer!

The man has made his way to the top and deserves the time he gets off. I subscribed for Howard, but have learned to change the channell when MTT sucks!

Keep going Howard and company.

I should email HBO and let them know how pissed I am to pay $12 a month for their service and I only get a dozen or so new episodes of Sopranos every couple of years. And a couple of those are typically wasted on dream sequences! bastards!

This is exactly what I was going to say. Do you email Fox when 24's season is over, complaining that you don't have anything to do on Tuesday nights between 9 and 10 anymore? Or like ProperModulation said about HBO and the Sopranos, if you were going to say that Fox is free.

Think about how many hours he has worked over the year. An average of around five hours per day, with about 25 minutes of commercials total (and even then, the ones he does live are entertaining because they'll talk about other stuff and Fred is playing sound effects). On regular radio, his shows were four hours long with close to two hours of commercials total. Even with the vacations and Fridays off, he's still doing TWICE the show than he ever did before. If that isn't worth $13/month, then I don't know what is.

I actually welcome the vacations because I can catch up on some music.

Quit bitching and get a job and/or a life.

EDIT: Typo.

I take it you don't work for the government. You should be able to realize what I mean though. There's a lot of behind the scenes work that goes into the show too. Not just Howard (he probably does the least work), but what about Gary? That monkey works his ass off.

i just hope he plays repeats from the sirius days and not before ... he said he was miserable the last ten years on terrestrial radio .. why the hell we want to hear him be miserable ? and the sound quality is shit..they barely sound like the same people.. i wish he never would have gotten those tapes back..

I agree. As much appreciation as Howard shows Gary, it's probably not enough. And I've been noticing recently how good a job Gary does hosting the after-show. The after-show is often as entertaining as the actual show.

That's right, little or no effort. On those rare occasions when there is a live show, it seems Howard is preoccupied, uninterested, and seems to really care less about whatever they are discussing. There are times when he gets into it, and those segmants are great. But just like live shows, they are few and far between.

I have to admit that last week's MTT shows were good. I just wish they would play more than one show per day, but I really don't like to complain about such things.
