Default Perhaps Howard will mention this on Monday?

http://www.nydailynews.com/entertain...p-396868c.html

and in case the link doesn't work...

The media audience measurement outfit Bridge Ratings says Howard Stern has accounted for 1,530,758 subscriptions to Sirius Satellite Radio - a remarkably specific number. That's about 30% of all Sirius customers and would mean around $20 million a year in revenue. Sirius is paying $100 million a year for Stern, and has said part of his value is making the whole company more visible.

Bridge is full of shit. I have no idea about these numbers but I do know that Bridge is full of shit. They actually revised all their spring 2006 numbers to fit the final data.

I think that Sirius should have a fill in survey for new subs to see why people are choosing their product over XM. If I were to go with XM it would be becaue they have exclusive rights to MLB, that's it. The music is a plus, the other talk shows a plus. I got Sirius because of Howard. I can't believe that only 1.5 million others felt likewise. If the numbers that Howard boasts of are true, the numbers that are fast approaching 6 million subs, he'd have to have more than 1.5.

Something ain't right. I wonder if Sirius is counting rental cars and saleable cars with Sirius already installed, yet not sold? I wonder if the actual number of subs is closer to 3 million?

1.5 million subs * $13/mo * 12mos/yr... how do you get $20 mil from that? More like $230 mil.

Thank you for pointing this out- Mel has always said they would break even if he brought a million subs. Based even upon Bridge Ratings conservative numbers, they are making $130 million a year off of Stern...

I did a survey too!

Basically it says the Bridge Ratings are way off......Done

It is sort of curious if SIRIUS did their own survey. Of course people would be pissed that SIRIUS was asking them questions.

I find it interesting that Bridge claims to know exactly how many people got Sirius for Howard. Especially since Sirius itself doesn't even know that. I mean, no one ever asked me what I was signing up for and I was never asked when I added a second radio to my account, so at the very least their Howard sub count is off by two.

i coulda sworn:

prior to HS announcement: subscriptions around 600k.

jan 9, 2006: around 4 million...

and that is like under a year and a half...

Just make up anything cause that's how it's done. It's all someone's ASSUMPTION. There is no "NEWS" anymore. Even if the "evidence" is exactly the opposite of what they are pushing. Doesn't matter. Make it up as you go reporting.
