Default Fred just made me spit out my Tea.

It was so silly (when you think about it) yet hilarious.

Robin was was doing the news and said:" The Pope was in Turkey yesterday"

and Fred quickly hit a turkey "gobble, gobble" sound bite.

I was sipping my tea at that instant and started laughing, causing me to spit it out on my shirt.

I am still chuckling....

Damn Fred is good....

To tell the truth, I was anticipating that sound bite, and if anything he was a couple seconds too late.

I think it's equally funny when I know a Fred sound bite is coming or when he takes you by surprise. Another one today that I was waiting for was when someone was talking about Cubans coming over on a buoy. I started counting down "5...4...3...2...1..." and sure enough Fred played the classic "Baba Booey". Fred is underappreciated.

Fred makes me laugh as much as anything else on the show. The gilbert laugh makes me histerical when he doesnt overdo it.

The show that the Gilbert laugh comes from was an all time great show and one where Fred was on fire with the use of the sound effects machine. In fact, it was Fred who got the ball rolling by playing the gay dudes over Gary's story about lifting weights at the gym. Then Gilbert started laughing like a maniac and then a little later started doing Gilbert Dice Clay.

Another good one was 2 years ago(?), when the Pope died. They were discussing how the Cardinals have a tradition where they check the Pope for breath using a mirror and then use a small hammer to tap on his forhead to confirm his death. Fred then played a clip of pipes going: "CLANG, CLANG. CLANG."

Or how about when they talked about rev Bob using coke and he played Jackie's sneeze.

Fred has been on point with the sound bytes as of late. No question about it!

Fred is the man. Fred is a genius. Fred is a lost art. And he's probably the most underrated person on the show. Honestly, without his contributions to the show it wouldn't be the greatness that it is.

Yeah, that didn't come out the way I intended, but you get the gist of what I'm trying to convey...I hope so at least. Otherwise, what would be the point of this entire Fred conversation brought up in the first place?

He sure was quiet today on the show. The sounds effects were great as always, he was just kinda quiet though.

When the question came up today about why Sam Simon would take RalfhyCakes on vacation with him, Fred was right on the whump whump whump BJ sound. That made me bust up big time. There was at least 3-4 times today when I just laughed out loud on the BART train. When Robin asked Beet if he knew the song "All I want for Christmas are my 2 front teeth" was one of the other times. I'm still laughing at it now...

The other day (I cant remember what was being discussed) Howard said he was hanging out with one of his gay friends and you hear Fred it in the background saying "Oh!" or something like that. Howard even commented on it. Pretty funny if you ask me.
