I'm not even gonna ask what this thread is doing in the Howard Stern forum.

I feel left out because I didn't get any Jay Thomas spam phone calls from SIRIUS. I got the impression from hearing him talking about it on the show that he really didn't want to do it. It's the same bullshit when SIRIUS FORCES talk-show hosts like him to whore Martha Stewart, the NFL channel happenings, etc.

BTW, I just cleaned some cat shit out of my cats litter box. Some of it had actually managed to find its way out of the litter box and onto the mat in front of the back door. And of course I stepped in two juicy wads going outside. Just thought I'd share that little bit of non Howard Stern-related info for no apparent reason whatsoever.

I got one of these phone calls on Saturday. I'm not going to complain about it though...they are offering some pretty good deals.

I see no point in taping the show right now...If I miss it and can't catch it over the weekend, oh well! Although I should point out right now I'm listening to Wed's show (one of the best ever since the move!) for the third time. Lucky me!
I see your point but the S50 is valuable to those of us who have to travel a lot in our jobs. I always tape a Howard show or two, a playlist and some mp3s to listen to on flights...real nice when going from the East to the West Coast. So the S50 does have value for some of us.

I haven't received a call yet, but every day I get emails from Sirius asking to buy something, or extend my membership.

I decline, and cite the reasons why, and wish them well when they will be let go in the near future. I then close the response with warm holiday wishes.

Seemed a bit much when the quality of their service has gone down since I subscribed in January. Try getting the repeaters back up in Akron, so I can use the satellite receiver I currently own, first.

They talked about it on the show today, kinda making fun of it. Howard said he isn't lame enough to do something like that, but then he went into a hardcore sales pitch right after saying that. It's so boring to listen to.

Sounds like you need that call....Sorry

Anywho, I got a missed call (barely missed it, too) and the number was unknown. It could've been Jay. Frankly, I don't need the reminder, though. Sounded lame. Now if the call was from a Stern crew member, I would've went crazy to hear it and laugh my ass off. Probably poor Gary would've got stuck with that.

I got the call from Jay Thomas. I didn't mind it too much, but the almost daily emails bother me.

I would have rather had Elliott call and dehumanize me.

No, he pretty much said he's glad he had the option to be able to turn it down and that Jay was a good guy for doing it. People like Jay (or anyone at SIRIUS who's not Howard for that matter) don't exactly have the luxury of saying no to the higher-ups without fear of later repercussions. The guy simply wanted to keep his job and was being a team player.

I wonder what those phone calls are costing Sirius? Sirius is HQ'd in NYC and Verizon don't play.

The emails are pretty bad! I often listen online so I'm pretty aware of what's going on!

I just got another one!!! I'm pretty understanding with things like this, I can only imagine how some other people are reacting to this.

Had to bump this 'cause I just got one from that f-ing douchebag Jose from Hard Attack. He's the absolute worst. Wish if I had to get SPAM calls I could get something from anyone but him.
