I, for one, am glad that they are entire shows and not segments.

With segements, it would be just one boring Sybian ride after another.

Whether there is someone that could replace him for his vacations is moot. you could easily throw the best of's on 100 and the fill in on 101 or vice versa if we're worried about the west coast feed.

For the same reason that you might defend everything that happens on the show - it's my opinion. And by the postings of late on various threads, it seems more and more fans are geting sick and tired of the same repeat programming and overall laziness that the show puts out.

When it's live and going full steam ahead, there's no show better. When it's on hiatus, or in rerun mode with the same programs on again and again, it gets frustrating to some.

As long as there is positive feedback from MTT or Best of 2006 Howard will continue with this format. Bubba said early on he was going to host while Howard was off but i think the tapes changed all that. Howard like to say he's not all of Sirius, true there are other fine things on the other channels but it's the Howard Stern show why everyone is signing up.

Like me, for example. I have been a Stern fan since WNBC days, and when he came to Sirius - I really thought it would be a "revolution", just like he said it would. And, he's partially right - it's revolutionary that a guy who is the face of the Sirius brand (like it or not) would work a 4 day week, and take off an additional 20% of the year with constant vacations...leaving his channels to play boring bullshit MTT from 20 years ago that don't hold up in 2006. Not to mention, while the first three months had only a few short commercial breaks, ads have noticably increased over the second half of the year - when combined with the time-wasting "Howard news" some breaks approach 20 minutes! Are we back at K-Rock?

You can be a fan, and not be a fool. Unfortunately, a lot of fans will never question anything Stern does because they feel like they are betraying him by speaking out. But, he obviously will do what he wants - and if he doesn't get negative feedback from his fans, he will never change. To listen to the screened emails he reads on the show, he thinks fans love MTT! Is he insane?

When the show is on, there is nothing better. I won't leave Sirius for XM - but I might leave it for my iPod loaded with better commercial free music than I can get from them, if they have no unique content to keep me interested. It sounds crazy for a long time Stern fan to say, but Howard needs to at least act like he cares in 2007, or he'll be surprised how soon this revolution will crash to a halt.

Talk about repetition. I hear less repetition on Hits 1.

Jesus Christ, just leave, will ya!!

And to risk being accused of being repetitious myself, not every Stern fan who does not piss and moan like a 3rd grader that got denied another cookie is a "fool". It means we have weighed the good and the bad and we personally don't feel the way you do. What we don't do is continuously bitch about the cons and threaten to leave because we are unhappy. If I ever felt the 12.99 isn't worth it, SBS would be the first to know. Not because I'd post and post and post about it, but because you wouldn't see me here anymore. Believe me when I say I wish you would do the same.

It gets old man - really, really old.

Out of 260 workable days(weekdays) he and the crew worked 178 days(or more correctly, shows, they did do two shows in one day). That number doesn't include any Friday Shows. So you can work the numbers how you like, by the hour, by the day, but when the tally is over are you happy with what you paid and what you received? Was the Stern Show worth over $120.00 in monthly fees this year?

If you believe the latest rumor(about Sirius' development into televison broadcasting) then perhaps "the revolution 'WILL' be televised".
