Like it or not, it's a fact. Listening to the "shock the balls" show today makes it very clear... Bubba is the man and Howard is 50% retired.

Like it or not... that's your opinion.

I respect your opinion, but I can't get on board with that.

I've tried listening to Bubba several times and just can't get into the show.

I'm pretty sure that's Howard's long term plans. Leave after the 5 years with enough going on that he can go and the world won't end.

The man is smart.

I'm a long time Howard fan. I'm in BadMFer's camp. Apples and oranges between the shows and there isn't a performer out there that can pick up the flag after Howard leaves. My opinion is that Howard will hang it up after his contract is up.

He'll be in his late 50's with a boatload of $$$...can't blame him for that! Isn't that where everybody wants to be?

But as far as passing the flag to Bubba...there's got to be a better way!!! That show is unlistenable. If he would just relax and talk like a normal dude instead of being so schticky, it may be worth listening to.

Thumbs up

BTLS really grew on me and i find my self listening to the show quite frequently (except when he's talking about Nascar and Football - i change over to Covino and Rich). I had no idea who he was when i got SIRIUS 2 months or so ago, but he's been a pleasant surprise IMO.

Pretty much sums it up for me as well, although i can listen to the football talk. No one will replace Howard because he was the first to introduce the country to this type of radio. But that doesn't mean that there isn't just as good or better shows out there.

I wouldn't miss Bubba if he was gone. In fact I wish he was gone.

I think Bubba is awesome!

I too wasn't a fan at first but have gotten into it quite a bit in the last few months.

I don't mind when Stern if off since I listen too much as is and let's me recoup a bit.

bubba is good but no way is his show better than howards. my favorite part of the bubba show is like the last hour when they are winding down and just hanging out. but if /when howard retires, so do two of my three sirius receivers. I'll listen to bubba in the car, but won't keep my two home units if there is no stern show.

Can't you just see twenty years down the road, Florida is the radio center of the world and Bubba takes his vacations in the Hamptons.

There will never be another with the impact that Stern has, no question. A morning drive without him is not far off. Bubba has a real good crew behind him. I assumed he was just a Stern clone and wouldn't listen. I changed my mind about it.

I love Bubba, but only listen when they are BSing with each other. His interviews suck (esspecially with the UFC and racing guys), and I'm not interested in the racing talk. I also hate most of their bits. So that leaves about 20% of the show that I like.

Exactly - maybe then you'll see Bubba working 3/4 days a week, and taking 3 months worth of vacations.

Right now, I agree with badmotherfarker - Bubba's show has given me more quality minutes of radio in 2006 than Howard - crazy as that may sound. Plus, it always sounds like Bubba is "hungry" and wants to be there, you can't always say the same about Howard ("anything else, Robin?"). If Bubba killed the Nascar talk, his show would be fantastic.
