VinnyM27 will become famous soon enough
Default "Beer League" comes out on DVD Tuesday, Jan 2nd.

If Artie had a motivation for the show coming back live next week, this is most certaintly it! We'll have to wait and here but it would be great to reach all Stern listeners live with this plug. People can go out to work or school and then order the movie online or pick it up after.

The best place to get it appears to be Circuit City, unless you live in a rapid Stern market like NY or Philly. The price is $17.99 (a dollar cheaper at Best Buy and they might even take the ad) but you get a free Beer League shirt (I would hope at least XL, or the marketing people are insane!). Also, if you don't have a Sirus or want a new one, you can buy a reciever and get the movie for free (not sure if you'd get the shirt, though). Pretty cool but it says five minimum shirts in stores and I'm sure in big Stern markets, those shirts will be gone right away. Luckily where I am, Stern never caught on that well (although when I went to see "Private Parts" it was pretty packed and Howard only came on the air about a month before).

Figured I would post this for anybody that cared.

Free shirt? Sweet... I was planning to get it anyway but a free shirt is a nice bonus.

That won't be bad, but of course if he was on the proper show getting those plugs in, people would buy. It might not sell gangbusers (probably won't even out sell the weeks biggest release, the goof "Snakes On A Plane") but it will probably pull in good numbers for an indie movie on DVD.

Interesting marketing strategy. As soon as the gift-giving season is over, the DVD is released.

No shit. About as brilliant as showing the movie in 50 theaters in Philly and zero theaters anywhere outside the northeast. Marketing of this movie has been retarded at every step.

That's the fuck up of the company, definately but think of it this way....Would you really give this as a gift? It almost is an advantage to release it after so people who want it can buy it themsleves...Time to cash in those gift cards! Might've been better if it came out last week, actually, right after Christmas!

Artie just mentioned that Beer League comes out today and said the date was 1/2/09. Kind of sounding a bit like Gary the Retard trying to talk about the date of the first Sirius show.

By the way...Howard was trying to remember a joke about the DVD of Beer League having 'Extras'. He should point out that Beer League is a film filmed almost entirely of 'Extras'.

I'm stuck at home waiting for the plumber to finish working on my toilet and as soon as he's done I'm off to get the Beer League DVD!
