Default Is "Private Parts" DVD rerelease going to happen, or is Howard's foot down?

I remember he mentioend this but I'm not sure when. He was very crabby that they didn't do it the first time or something but back then, I don't think super special editions of DVDs were the big thing and people were not willing to pay even a little more for all that material. But just for the deleted scenes alone it would be worth it. He seemed to have mentioned it the one time but never again. Could they do it without his approval? Since he appears only to be the star and a writer of the book the movie is based on, I figure they probably could but it would be great if he were involved....the audio commentary would definately be what everybody was interested in. Come on, Howard. Relive the past, even if you and Allison aren't together. Tell Beth to get over and give fans something that they are more than willing to pay for!

I remember him saying he offered to buy the rights from the studio a few years back, they were not willing to sell. Just my opinion, I don't think it has anything to do with the ex, he has said time and time again he hates pushing things on the fans. We are already paying money to hear him, he doesn't feel like being a whore and making is pay more money for something with a little extra content. I don't feel this way, I really wish he would have offcial products we could buy, even coffee mugs. Maybe someday he will re-release the movie with specials, who knows though.

I think he was talking about this just a few weeks ago. If memory serves, he said he was pushing for a 10-year anniversary release with some extras and such, but that the studio didn't seem all that interested in doing anything with it.

I know it's not really about Allison and more about his rule not wanting to push things on fans but the fans so want this! I just hope its not to late to get involved. I think he is right when it comes to things like mugs and stuff, although it would be nice if he had those available. When it comes to entertainment, though, he shouldn't have to feel uneasy. Rerelease it! This is definately one of about several movies that I'm hoping gets a proper rerelease treatment for DVD that it deserves due to the deleted scenes and all the other great extras that I'm sure would come out, too.

Jef, I'm pretty sure it's the opposite. The studio wanted to the the tenth anniverssary and Howard didn't want to get involved (actually, I think I just read his agent advisded against it). I think he might have even said he was pissed that they didn't do it the first time around, hence his stressing of not wanting the fans to buy it again. But back then, the super special editions didn't come so often.
