Who said anything about ten minutes? They said six minutes an hour was the max, which is a good number. It's more than that now no matter how you average it out.

Actually, day one had no commercials.

I truly have no life because ProperModulation's work with the timer means a lot to me and I thank him for it. I hate commercials and I hate it when Howard glosses over changing something he previously crowed about (like staying with his loyal wife and not moving in with a model [not totally fair because I think Alison had had it with him]). If ProperModulation thinks that it is possible that the commercials average out to 6 minutes per hour then I feel somewhat better about the whole thing.

Speaking of contradictions, when Howard was berating Sal for his racist reference to Robin as a monkey, wasn't he forgetting the words he used to use to describe Patrick Ewing?

Anyone who listens to Howard looking for serious social commentary that is non-contradictory in nature is listening to the wrong show. The Howard Stern Show is about one thing and one thing only - Laughs. If it ain't funny, it ain't in there. Howard's thing he did about Patrick Ewing was funny at the time, but times change. Sal's comments are not funny in this day and age (actually, his schtick isn't funny in any day and age), but bagging on Sal being a racist is funny, so they do that. The only contradiction I care about when listening to Howard is if he contradicts the purpose of the show by not making me laugh. Anything else is just bullshit.

After a stressful work-week, people are ready for some good entertainment when the weekend is starting. Remember Howard's mocking the zoo-type morning shows ("Hey, It's Friday... Woo hoo!" ... bells & whistles, etc.).

In any event, I doubt they would have been able to book both Dennis Rodman and Fifty Cent with only one day's notice. Great interviews, by the way. I ain't complaining and I'm glad the Stern gang is back!
I remember. I also remember Howard mocking Johnny Carson and David Letterman for cutting Fridays out of their schedules. Something about being lazy, or something like that. I bet we will never hear those shows on MTT.
