I may be the only one who feels this way but why would Howard want Jackie back? Don't get me wrong, I loved the Jackie era and thought he was great on the show, but I think Howard has moved on. If Artie left, Howard would probably rotate in people just like last time until someone clicks.

I don't get it either.... I never really liked Jackie in the first place and listening to the MTT shows now I feel the same way.

I don't know that tons of fans would come back for Jackie. I also don't know that a ton would leave with Artie either. That being said - I like both Artie and Jackie, but I think Howard would look elsewhere.
For some reason, it seems like it would go over like David Lee Roth coming back to Van Halen - which lasted about as long as that awards show they were presenting on.
I just think how big Jackie's head would be after coming back and Howard wouldn't deal with that again...

"They neeeeeeed me! - ohhhhhh" - said in Fred's voice impersonating Jackie...

Who else thinks this is his last yr? After the news about the sit com deal that was in the background. His attitude has completely gone to, I don't really need this place anymore.
Is Artie required to do the Wrap-Up show or does he just stick around because he enjoys being there? Does he get paid extra for it?

I think Benji is unhappy, too, based on what he didn't say today...

IMO, Artie knows that people are interested in doing projects with him because he has a built-in following more than because they have seen how funny he can be.

This is just hypothetical, but do you think that perhaps if Artie sticks around, and assuming Howard retires after his 5 years are up, that he may take the lead and it would become the 'Artie Lange Show'?

No, he's not required, he does it cause it fun. He has said he enjoys being at Sirius and doing the other shows. But that statement was a few months back.

Artie could not carry a show. He doesn't have the work ethic to prep for one.

Artie is 100 times better on the radio than anything he has done on the big or small screen - unfortunately Artie is the only one who doesn't realize this.

My thoughts----- He's Outahere--- Welcome Back Jackie?
Yeah, because he'll be a DEAD bloated corpse next year!

In all seriousness, I honestly think he's smarter than what we're being led to believe. I still don't think the FOX deal will amount to anything. Plus he's been been a huge Stern fan himself for 25(?) years now and surely realizes why he's currently where he is today. But if Artie hasn't learned anything from Jackie's mistake by now and actually does leave--he'll surely be back (all 450 pounds) in a couple of years after he hits bottom doing "Artie's Heroin Hunt"....assuming he's still alive and kicking.

I just figure if he didn't want to be there as much as people are saying, then he wouldn't stick around and not get paid for it. Thats gangster talk for maybe he does like it there.

Like Jackie said at the Mac Hine Roast "Artie and I are in a Who's Dumber contest. I quit the show and he took up heroin. The big question is Who will go back first!"

After seeing Artie on Letterman, it was disturbing how fat he really is. He's hoping that his Fox Development Deal becomes the cartoon that he was talking about. Then he can continue to look like a big fat slob and nobody will care. That being said, I think he's a really funny guy with a lot of good stories. I hope he sticks around, but some other comic would fit in just fine.

I don't think so. Remember they offered him a big chunk of change to do it when Stern was leaving to Sirius and he said that he couldn't do it. Also I agree that he doesn't have the work ethic for it.

He just doesn't have enough stories for it. By the end of this contract we'll have heard them all at least once...
