Holy christ...Artie would be dead already if he didn't have this gig. I guarantee that if he leaves for a FOX show, he will be back to his old schenanigans.

Not many people in our world have a conscience. Honesty is a great attribute in a person. You're a rare breed.

Its one thing to have a conscience and another to listen to what you want. It really shouldn't be their business what he listens to. He is 17 and our laws say he can listen to this stuff.

For God's sake, DON'T Tell your parents! I'm 38 years old and I still haven't told mine!

It sounds as if you're smarter than your parents, in fact, Officer Shaq agrees with me. You should also ask them to pay for the Spice Channel because you're interested in learning how to cook up new exotic dishes.

Ah, go ahead and tell them. Tell them that everything you hear on their, your just going to do the opposite of. Like Artie, tell them he's your barometer for how not to live. Not that their going to know who he is anyway!!

I introduced my whole family to howard stern when I was 13. Of course back then the show was on government run terrestrial radio, and it was on 5 days a week.

Thanks guys. I have to say to BMF that kids these days are still a lot like they were. Every day in high school I hear stories about who's pregnant, who did who, who got high, who got drunk...of course, I don't do any of those things. My worst offense so far is listening to Howard. I've given Bubba a listen, but he's not really my cup of tea. I feel that Howard's comedy has gotten me through some tough times by making me laugh. The only two radio shows that will make me laugh are Howard and Stephanie Miller, and Howard makes me laugh harder and more often than Steph. I have to just say thanks to Richard and Sal and the whole crew over there at Howard 100 for just letting me forget all the cares of the day. Ughh. If Fred could hear me he'd be pressing the "He's a fa-a-g!" button.

I've been thinking of actually calling into the show and asking Howard this directly. I'd have to wait until Spring Break or something. I bet Howard would make me put my parents on the phone and stuff. How great would that be? There's no way my parents would forbid me listening if they actually discussed it with the man himself!

almaniac -

It sounds like you're a kid who was brought up right, and is mature enough to understand that the show is satire. My bet is, you have good parents, and if you told them I think they would be completely understanding. But if you decide not to tell them, I don't think it's something to feel guilty about.

Don't tell... This would be like telling my parents I was pirating games for the commodore 64 when I was that age... And they could never figure it out when I kept saying I didn't like the game and needed to take it back...

Just enjoy the show and don't worry about it. And if they find out, quote Private Parts. Tell them that the average STern fan listens for 1 1/2 hours, but you, the Howard Stern hater, listens for 2 1/2 hours. Most common answer for why they listen? I want to hear what he'll say next.

Your parents can't argue with that logic.
