The new iPhone 3G has been a hot topic recently; this is somewhat related. Millard Software announced yesterday uSIRIUS - iPhone Edition. It’s still in BETA and the author is aware of some current bugs:

This version is a beta release. It has several bugs and may even cause your iPhone/iPod Touch to reboot. It is just to show that Sirius Satellite Radio is possible on the iPhone.
I’m hoping one of our members with an iPhone or iPod Touch with at least v1.1.4 firmware can give this a try and post a review.

Default Internet Radio only?

I am assuming that this would be just for internet radio?

Yes, you are prompted for your login to your streaming account. It looks like it even supports the premium streams.

For the IPhone, do you need to have wifi? Or can you listen to it at any time?

You should either have a data plan or have access to a local wi-fi connection. This application will not work while you do not have Internet access.

Thumbs up

Tried it out last night on my iphone. It is fantastic. Even works over the edge network. Today I should get a better idea of how fast it will kill the battery. The biggest downside so far is that in order to switch audio out options (plug in head phones or remove) stops the audio. You must go back and reload the stream. A small hassle but the reward is great!

The interface works really well. Not confusing at all. I have tested both the low and hi quality streams and they work as expected.

Had one lockup/reset this a.m. and at one point I couldnt adjust the volume level. So there are some small bugs but dont let that stop you from trying it.

There is some more info here from the guys who wrote the app.

http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=497723

It should cost less than a $1.

how much bandwidth is being used? I know it is an unlimited plan with the iphone, but is it really unlimited or 5GB or whatever.
Don't want to see an additional charge, or a shut off/throtteling of service.

I don't have an iPhone, so I'm not sure what jailbreaking is all about.

DAB, you have to jailbreak your iPod Touch first to use this.

However, after the 2.0 software comes out (at the latest July 11) you will be able to download it to your Touch for $1 or so.

Gotcha, I am not jail breaking my iPod Touch for this. I'll try it out after the 2.0 software, which I am looking forward too.

The biggest gift Apple could give me would be to do away with their exclusive AT&T agreement. Anyway that is for another thread!

Has anyone tried to use this since the new iPhone update came out? Is the link still the same for the new 3G phone? I just saw your posts and this is great, I want to try it on mine, just wasn't sure how.
