What would be nifty is if someone came out with a combo Sirius/radar detector...

I do like the new receivers, specially the artist seek feature!

I'm a little curious about the Xact XTR8CK. It has a better looking dock than the Starmate Replay (not the wires pluged directly into the unit). But is the circle part on the right a "dial" setup?

It looks like the circle is a left, right, up down and select to mirror the functionality of Starmate but with a rocker switch instead of individual buttons. The large circle in the middle is probably a large "select" button. It is pretty cool looking, but I think I like the button configuration of the Starmate Replay better, especially on the other buttons. I just prefer having separation between buttons which provides easier control while driving.

Here you are once again coming to XM's defense when you don't need too. First of all I have a Pioneer Airware and I have done nothing but praise it. But I wasn't not talking about the tuner, I was talking about the Arist or Song Seek implimentation. If these new tuners continue to do tune select the same way the current batch of XM2GO's do then SIRIUS will clearly have a better song search setup.

The fact is that when you save a song in XM's tune select memory you save both song and artist, then you have to pick rather you want it to alert you BY SONGS or BY ARTIST, there is no ability to save a song only or an artist only like Sirius is doing. Sirius has a better setup because there are some songs I want, but don't want to be alerted for every song that artist has. There are some artist that I'd like to be alerted for every song that comes on. So Sirius gives you the CHOICE, XM does NOT. XM's forces you to pick ALL ARTIST or ALL SONGS, but there is no choice on a song by song or artist by artist level. I have always said XM's implimentation sucked because if you put in 30 artist and you have it searching by artist, the constant alerts get old very quickly. I'll take Sirius implimentation over XM's any day.

The XM2GO tuners are great, but they aren't perfect and I know because I own one. You continue to prove exact what I said about you in another post, your TOTAL XM BIAS sticks out like a soar thumb.

XM needs to wake up and fix their poor implimentation of the artist seek and I stand by that 100%, but this doesn't mean XM is bad or that their equipment is horrible now does it soxnationonline?

Just click on CFGs "profile" and then look at his previous posts. That should tell you all you need to know about the issue.

Hopefully this thread won't get dragged off topic into a SQ thread.

Exactly, it's just a reskinned Starmate Replay. I personally think the Starmate Replay is the more attractive of the two.

I agree with you Jeff, I think the Starmate Replay is much more attractive. I really like this setup a lot.

My questions are, will the S50 have artist seek as well and how will the antenna reception be?

I suggest that what Sirius should do is enter into an agreement with WMATA (Washington Metro) to be allowed to put repeater antennas down in the subway tunnels. If Verizon can do it to get cell phone coverage down there, why not Sirius? They'd also better get moving on it, since XM is based in DC...

EDIT: Wait, it seems that you can't get a satellite radio signal unless it's in a dock....LAME!

My understanding is that there is no s-seek, but I am still not sure that is true. It appears that it comes with game alerts and game zone. So, I am hoping they just left this off the list of features, but I could be wrong.

This tuner isn't decide to provide live reception while on the go. But you have up to 50 hours of content recorded to use as a portable. I think many of us wanted and would prefer a tuner that provides for live broadcast, but this unit isn't bad at all.

Thus far the connectors for antennas have been pretty standard since the 2.0g tuners were released so I'd say YES it would fit, unless they decide to change it on the Starmate Replay. It would be pretty dumb if they did change it though. XM did this crap with their XM2GO's.
