Default Does Sirius read this website?

I ask this question because the only thing they seemed to get right in terms of listeners requests is adding a New Age channel fulltime.

I'm shocked Remix is being deleted. That was a VERY popular channel in the dance category. There have been numerous posts on this site about getting rid of Boombox. It doesn't belong in the dance category and should be merged with Backspin. This is the main reason why I chose sirius over XM was because they had a 24/7 mix channel. I bet they'll get major complaints over this one!

Because not to many people were listening, they do study these things, they don't play enie minie miny moe (and I know I didn't speel that right).
They screwed up on this one, trust me.

Remix is easily the most popular dance station....

Boombox plays rap. Chill plays rock. The Beat plays freestyle and rap remixes, Area 63 plays a lot of obscure Electronica.

Remix was the only station playing all styles of dance music, in true mixing form (the way it belongs) 24/7. I know many people who got Sirius just for Remix, and now I'm sure many that will be leaving for XM or dropping altogether because Remix is gone.

Yep. Sirius no longer has any advantage over XM in the dance department. This is a sad, sad day for dance fans. We have been pushed aside by FM radio and now satellite radio.

Default Re: New SIRIUS Programming Lineup

Glad to see we're getting a New Age stream back. I've had to relax to Chill and Jazz Cafe, and I'll welcome this as an alternative.

What about Lime? From the sounds of it, it's way more than just a name change. Since the Wisdom Radio Network provides the audio for the current stream, does that mean that they're leaving...being replaced by a new content provider?

Deleting Swing Street? Where am I going to get my classy dinner music? Big bummer.

BIGGER bummer. No more Remix? That station was great. I'm going to miss the great DJ's it featured. Swedish Egil, Armin van Buuren, et al. So sad.

All in all, I'm a bit disappointed. New stations are moderately ho-hum, and the deletions were in critical niche areas.

Christian Talk ... SIRIUS Patriot ... SIRIUS Right ... but still no replacement for AAR/second liberal/progressive talk stream AS THEY PROMISED WHEN AAR LEFT.

Liars.

Swing Street is a huge loss IMO. My mother in law, who's 80+ and in good health loves to listen to that stream when visiting my wife and I. I get a big kick out of watching her tap her toes and singing along to the music she grew up loving and listening to. Well I guess I'm going to have to find a way to transmit XM's 40's channel from my PC to my home theater receiver; I have XM and Sirius subscriptions, but because of the construction materials used to build my new home, I have problems receiving both using home kits or boomboxes.

I'm not sorry to see Slow Jamz get axed, but I'm really disappointed that the stream will not be replaced by either reinstating the Express or adding a similar stream featuring old school funk many of us here have asked for. I've sent many e-mails and letters to Sirius, but no dice. Maybe someone here with inside information could shed light on this -- why did Sirius rename "Soul Revue" to "Soul Town"? Any way you cut it, us old schoolers who love classic R & B are will soon be reduced to 2 streams as a result of the reshuffle. I'll withhold judgement either way until I give "Soul Town" a listen, if this is a revamped "Soul Revue".

As far as making a prediction as to the longevity of either of these two remaining adult R & B streams, well, from the direction the hierarchy seems to be heading in, I wouldn't hold my breath. :\

OK, so can anyone tell me how the coffee house (Acoustic Coffee House Music) is different from Folktown? I'm guessing it'a a lot of Allanis Morrissette type stuff, but not sure.

I also will miss Swing Street, and upset that they're not adding a second left-wing talk channel to replace Air America. And, if they keep adding channels for Christians and New Agers, they should also have a Jewish channel.

REMIX 62 is/was very strange .. Lots of Dumb Unknown DJ's that play load and load of cheese.. AREA 63 is the only one playing Real Music and with hopefully the additions of Gabriel & Dresden, Darude, George Acosta, Judge Jules, Sweedish Egil, It Will be a complete STATION!!!

I am bumbed about REMIX - just started listening to it and its great but it sounds very similar to Area 63.

Still no punk channel.

I'm very happy to see the return of New Age into the Sirius lineup. I am still hoping though, that we will hear film scores sometime in the near future. As for Wisdom Radio, I was a frequent listener for about the first year of owning my radio, but then everything started sounding the same. Hopefully this new change will tweak it a bit and bring it up to date.
