WOW Well personally I am super excited about the channel changes simply because of Revolution. I'm really not a religious person but the only reason I have XM around is because I think The Torch is my favorite station between the two (although I like Sirius's overall offering better)

I really hope they keep format it like the Torch were it's all rock, and not every song has to be Christian but they just play good music!!!

Anyway again, really excited about Revolution, anyone else?

If you would have payed attention to the sirius web site or the message boards here, you would know this is only temporary. They are only doing this for about a month.

Default Very Dissapointed

I had high hopes for the new lineup announcement, but, once again, I was rather disappointed. A few comments.

Addition of Super Shuffle, Revolution: Fine ... probably won't listen, so whatever.
Addition of coffee house, spa73 (New Age): YAWN.

Loss of Swing Street: Don't really care, but I was hoping that Sirius would add a "lounge" music station. Standard Time is OK, but sometimes the selections sound like they belong on Movin' Easy. I was hoping for a new channel in addition to Standard Time like XM's online channel On the Rocks. And, I hate to say it, but Frank's Place on XM is better than Standard Time.

But, most importantly, I am WICKED %^#*ED OFF about the lack of a replacement for Air America Radio. I know, I know, AAR left Sirius, blah, blah. But, Sirius knew about the departure for months and loyal 144 listeners have been promised a second left-wing talk station. Conservatives have Patriot and Right, and progressives only have Left (and Left isn't that good anyway). Hey Sirius - thanks for the blatantly lying to me and then stabbing me in the back!!

I am in a bit of lather. I better go cool off. Spa73 anyone?

Maybe there's a reason why Talk Central is now going to be called Stars? Could that channel become a liberal talk station, guess we'll have to wait and see.

I'm just going to say that the new lineup is a step in the right direction (mostly), but SIRIUS still has quite a ways to go. Where's the:
  • Movie Soundtracks Channels
  • Dedicated 90's channel
  • Funk channel
  • ALL Punk channel
  • Another left channel to replace AA and balance things out - if anything, just to shut people up
  • An UNCENSORED, less mainstream alternative rock channel (hopefully this censorship crap will blow over)

And I really don't see the need to delete a popular channel such as Remix when Boombox is the one getting all the complaints. Just my two cents.

It's just a name change.

I'm going to miss Swing Street..

I might like The Coffe House channel..

I am a little disappointed in the loss of Swing Street. I was also hoping they'd improve the "lounge-style" line up rather than taking away.

Oh well.

I know that a lot of people were really hoping for new age and I'm glad it is coming. I'll have to check it out for sleeping music.

As for the rest of the changes they don't really move me one way or the other.

I listen to remix quite a bit. In fact I jump from Area 63 to Remix and Boombox the Hard Attack almost constantly. Pure energy. I like them all but listened the least to Remix. Boombox isn't all rap or hip hop, there is a lot of hardcore drum and base electronic on there as well. so the two channels Boombox and Area 63 still provide a wide assortment of good dance. I will miss the long mixes but... adios.

Coffee House? Bring it
Super Mix? Have to see.

I really, really hope that the new Spa 73 is EXACTLY what Soundscapes is/was.
What a stupid name, though. What's so bad with "Soundscapes"?

Not crazy about the changes, but would like to see the new line up as a whole. I am disappointed about losing Wax and Remix, wish it did not have to happen.

Also, as much as I dislike listening to the traffic and weather for New York along with my Philadelphia information, why go to one per channel??? Hopefully it does not take up more bandwidth.

Why no dedictaed 90's channel???? They dropped the ball again on this.

Just wondering what is the differnce between swing street and stanard time ? I would think they would play pretty close to the same kind of music, but I never really listened to them.

Area 63 to me is the best dance channel Sirius has.

And would also second a deeper uncensored Modern Rock stream. I don't like the term "alternative" this music is pretty mainstream now.

Losing an urban R&B channel (Slow Jamz) and still no funk channel!! I am wondering about the name change of Soul Revue into Soul Town, is it just a name change? :\
