Howard did say today he would have jackie back the last week of the show to say goodbye if he wants to come in
The funniest Billy West stuff was when he did Larry Fine (Larry from the 3 stoogies). I still have a tape of him doing Larry Fine at Woodstock. The thing must be 20 years old now.

All of this talk about Billy West and Jackie...they could run every Stern show from 1986, around the clock on one of the stations and I would listen all day and all night. Its bringing back memories of all of the classic moments...the days when Kinison and Gilbert would come in...stay for the news, which would go until 11:30 when he would be literally told to end the show...Ahhh the good old days.

I hope he has rights to those old shows and finds a place on Sirius to revisit them...Jackie puppet, Gary puppet, Jackie's 'piece of wood' and weekend beach parties...there is so much material!!!

Thanks AnfKid...I'll let you know. I have several hundred hours of archives (VHS) from the 1987 to 1990 period...I just need to start reviewing and transferring the best stuff to digital...

I apologize for side tracking this thread into a Stern Show archive discussion...back to the original thought...

Welcome Bubba...look forward to hearing you...and your thoughts about Howard burrying the past and bringing you onboard!!

He was, but not anymore. I believe it was just a simulcast of his show on some FM station in Florida, so obviously it won't be as "R-rated" as it will be on Sirius.

Actually, Bubba was on FM Radio, and it was a Clear Channel station, so it was syndicated ON XM. Then he screwed up, and got booted. By the sounds of things, he was working hard to get on ONE of the satellite systems, but things had fallen through, which of COURSE IS GOOD news for us, because now we get him on Sirius!

The REAL good news about all this is that Howard is going to DO something, unlike the High Voltage station on XM that just constantly plays Opie and Anthony. Not that I don't like them, but over and over and over just is not right. (And yes I know they hired someone new, so it'll be TWO sets of jocks, but still WAY to slow moving where O&A have been on for a while now)

Howard is apparently going to build 2 GREAT stations on Sirius, and whether or not you like Howard it is GREAT for Sirius.

My bet as to the Howard stream alignments is:

100 - live shows (with replays overnight until enough content can be developed)
101 - time-shift of 100 (probably 3 hours) with best-of's overnight

I thought Bubba was very funny when he use to be on one of the rock stations up here before the station went hip-hop. Looking forward to Howard and Bubba's arrival.

There's been quite a bit of confusion about this (not just this thread, but all over the place), and I'll do my best to clear it up.

The BTLS show was carried on XM 152 (initially via tape delay, but then they moved it by popular demand to put us live, following by the Monsters of the Midday out of Orlando). I believe the show went on XM in 2002, but I don't recall exactly (I started working for Bubba in early 2003). Our flagship station was WXTB/Tampa, and we were syndicated in a number of markets, on both Clear Channel and non-Clear Channel stations.

When Clear Channel fired Bubba on February 23, 2004, that also meant the end of the feed being carried on XM, as we no longer had a studio or a flagship station from which a feed could be sent. The show has been on hiatus since then. No XM-only shows, no internet shows, no podcasting. We did put our best of material up as a continuous running 24/7 "Best of Bubba" channel for people to enjoy (or for those unfamiliar with us to be able to listen).

As for things with Sirius, details should be coming out in the next week. As soon as I'm given the go-ahead, they'll go up on BTLS.com. And I'll do my best to keep you all updated here on the Sirius Backstage forum.

We're excited about everything, and I see this as being wonderful for Sirius, our respective shows, and for the listeners. It's a win-win for all involved, in my opinion.

Default Bubba to Sirius

For all of you that aren't familiar with Bubba I was a fan when he was on in CT on stick radio and XM, simulcast from Tampa, 98 rock. One thing you guys are gonna love about the show is it's quick moving, subject matter changing mostly from the callers. Bubba dosen't have phone screeners asking "what do you want to talk about", as a caller, you get put right on the air and sometimes he just runs with what's on your mind. I can also say that between Ned, Manson and Brent, Bubba and the entire show are the funniest bunch of m'fers your gonna here, the bits etc are classic. I've e-mailed Lou several times about the show since it was taken off and have always got a personalized e-mail back and my latest e-mail was returned by Lou and Bubba himself! Just letting all you know that are un-familiar, hang on, your in for a ride!!
