I think I'm going to invest in one of these badboys if they can do two things..

1) I have an old Audiovox PNP unit and I can't get a boombox for my house. Can this device act like a regular receiver when hooked up to the boombox?

2) Will I have to get another subscription for this? I just plan on using it in my home and really don't need it for the car, but it would be a great compliment to my IPOD.

Thanks in advance.

With the home kit you will be able to hook it up to anything with an Aux Input or perhaps broadcast to it via FM.

If you plan to keep your current Audiovox then YES, you'll need a second subscription, otherwise you can just do a tuner swap and have the one subscription on the new tuner.

My understanding is that the package comes with the car kit, so you'll have to buy the home kit separately.

DAB,

Thank you. I will preorder one now and get the boombox and just transfer my service over to it.

My car kit was starting to malfunction anyway so this comes at a perfect time.

Is the boombox going to be available at the release date?

What's the best place to order?

Thanks for all your help.

No it won't. The boombox may not be out for a little bit, unfortunately.

Please note: DAB will not be able to wear the armband as his huge muscles will not allow it.

Back on topic, I think I've watched this video 100 times now. Can't wait for this bad boy!

Here are some pictures I had not seen. Very Nice! Seems to fit nicely in the hand. In the last picture look at that connector. It appears you will be able to plug in an AC adapter to charge the battery without the cradle.

You think so? I'm not convinced by that picture. I've seen a similar connector on many other units.

I can't believe that for the price they're not including a home kit. You'll pretty much have to have one if you want to use the portable feature of the unit. They even sell the armband separately--if they want to market this as a portable unit they should include everything to make it portable. I'm not trying to be negative, but if the home kit is at least $60 (and it looks really cool so they may charge more) then the total cost just to get started is well over $400.

The home kit is supposed to list for $100. I'll have to guess that price is justified because it's packed with electronics. It's been mentioned before, most would have preferred the S50 to be bundled with the home kit. Or considering the price, both kits.

I agree with you guys, it should have come with the home kit with the car kit optional, but in reality I think it should have just been packaged with both at the $359.99 price.

The pricing is going to hurt the sells of this unit in my opinion. There will be a lot of folks get it, but the potential for a lot more to get it is deminished by it being over priced.

Joel it has been confirmed that the AC Adapter will plug into the S50 to charge the battery without the home cradle.
