That is my first thought, too. The Stones channel was the same time of their tour and this channel coincides with the re-release of "Born to Run", these aren't just random channels that Sirius decided they wanted to create.

Howard is sorta funny, but for 12.95 a month I see no reason to keep both services. It's on to XM full time unless things change between now and the end of the year.
Just what Sirius needs another fuckin` rock channel.Goes to show U what I have been saying all along Sirius` attitude towards thier subscribers who are R&B,Funk,Neo-soul fans is FUCK THEM.

They aren't deleting or removing any channels so its not another rock channel, just a temporary change of format for just 1 channel and not even an R&B channel. I am sure if Sirius was to recieve extra bandwidth they would have a channel for every musical taste but with the limited bandwidth they have it's impossible for them to satisify some of the less popular genres.
Less popular genres? Have you read the polls? I know they aren`t deleting any channels just providing 1 more rock channel for Sirius` preferred demographic.

Looks like we will be getting another sound quality reduction. I would love the day when sirius announces that they ar retracting 20 streams to improve sound quality.

Please dont give Sirius any ideas because you know the first two on the list will be Heart & Soul and Soul Town.

Not a big fan of springsteen, Im not sure if he deserves his own channel (mind you I live in Jersey, they love him here, so everyone with Sirius here will be pumped, and its suprising they havent had a terr station dedicated to him) The Stones were monumental in their time, people still love them, but I dont think they deserve to be a channel all to themselves (and for that matter elvis either.) Maybe if they started a stream which featured a different band/artist every week...and not just the big ones. I yearn to hear more from artists like Sonic Youth, Bjork, Tori Amos, Erykah Badu, Stevie Wonder, Parliament, etc...bands with enormous libraries. As for the race factor, how much whiter can we get? They dessemated the channels featuring mostly black artists and now three of the whitest artists ever have streams dedicated to them...I mean come on, one from england, one from jersey, and then theres elvis...let alone that the fact that one of the six hip-hop/R&B streams was "created by" eminem...a white guy. The execs needs to get their shit straight...listen to the listeners and consultants...and for fucks sake...hire a non-white person to management....and LISTEN!

But now the peeps who compalined about all the "classic rock" will have a "classic rock" type station replaced by a "classic rock artist". It's all copacetic, eh?

At least it's still Sirius and not "FREE FM"

When is SIRIUS going to wakeup and stop this "artist exclusive" bullshit? I could understand having a channel that showcases one band or artist every week, but to just play the same crap by the same artist/band for months is just repetition overload!

Good, at least it's not permanent.
Yeah, just like 'Rolling Stones Radio' stopped on September 29.

E Street Channel = hole in my head

Now the Bob Marley channel, that would be worthwhile!

I just realized that its about competition...

Little Steven has his own channels (and one of them is a legit and excellent concept at that), so now Steven's boss "the Boss" needs to outdo him and have his own channel with just *His* music...
