Okay, I've been away for a couple of days but this is great news!! This is a long time coming and will definately be one of my presets. This is BIG! My apologies to those of you that are not Springsteen fans.

Sirius has to make business decisions based on profitability and exposure, not pie-in-the-sky idealistic views of what the service should be or do.

As I previously mentioned, the Stones tour is a huge success, and there are many concerts left in many cities.

It would be bad business and downright stupid to cut off such a fruitful source of positive exposure for Sirius.
Its not like they have a "star bucks " channel Like the other guys!!

Hey, I'd take Billy Joel over Bruce Springsteen anyday. I actually might listen to the B. Joel channel a little, but I will spend zero time with the Springsteen channel.
Anyway, with that aside, I think this whole "single artist channel" stuff is ridiculus. If they are going to do it, then they need to dedicate a channel just for this instead of messing with other channels like "the Bridge". Just about everyone seems to enjoy "the Bridge" and it will be a shame to lose it for 3 months for this. (Don't forget, Christmas is coming up soon to, so you can expect to lose at least one other regular channel for Xmas music soon too).
I think this is a very bad move, and I am definately e-mailing them telling them that I am not happy about "the Bridge" being replaced. Also, they say it is only for 3 months; SURE!!! Is that why "Rolling Stones Radio" continues to drivel on months past when it was supposed to end??? I thought that surely if they were going to do this, they would at least replace the Stones channel with it. But no, now we lose yet another channel for this one artist, promotional whore junk. Here's an idea Sirius; increase your subscription price instead of whoring out at every possible chance for some free promotion. I, for one, would certainly prefer it.

Just when you think it couldn't get any worse... WHAM! LOL AMAZING!
I feel the same way...the Bridge is one of my presets but I guess I'll have to re-program to something else for the next few months. I don't hate Bruce, but I'll probably never tune in to his channel. If they're going to do this single artist thing they should just use the same channel and not keep randomly using other channels. I have to believe that the Bridge is one of the more popular channels they have. It's a shame to waste it this way.

This was a post of mine made a few weeks back regarding the hijacking of "The Globe/Horizons". It's sad to say that I was right.

"The stones need to roll on already! Sirius needs to hold itself to the deadlines it publishes. This happened with Radio 1 and now it's happening to The Globe. Sirius clearly stated that the Stones were over september 29th and then reniged. It's just not very professional IMO.

It was also unprofessional of Sirius to hijack a channels format virtually unannounced like they did with Horizons. Although I'm not too fearful of it, I still can't help but wonder where does sirius draw the line? After all, what's to stop them from turning Octane into the Mariah Carey channel for a month?

I think it's just very disrespectful to those who enjoy the type of music that Horizons/The globe caters to."

This Springsteen channel is really getting a lot of media attention. Good publicity move, Sirius!

It's only until the end of January. I can live with that.

I love Bruce, but why do this? People who really like Bruce have his CDs already and don't need this type of station. What is the point?

Maybe I am still bitter about losing Folktown - Sorry.....

Surely something less popular than the Bridge could have been gotten rid of....I cant figure out the reasoning behind some of these moves!!! I think they know which ones I like and target those!! I LOVE the rap channels- are you hearing me Sirius?????

If you haven’t been keeping up on the “No more Folktown?” topic in the Country music forum, there are some good remedies there for the loss of Folktown, especially the one I described on the ninth and tenth pages.
