What pure 'one artist' channel does XM have? Sirius has Rolling Stones Radio, Elvis Radio, and now Bruce Springsteen Radio! Answer that one.

I don't see why there's so much desire for one artist stations.... I guess unlike many people, I need variety.. I like the Stones, but that channel got old for me after a just a few days. I don't care much for Elvis or Springsteen so I won't be listening to them.

I'm not sure why they're taking over the Bridge.. That's another one of my favorites down the tube.. I HOPE it's temporary.. The Stones channel doesn't seem to be.....

I don't see the value in one artist stations. I hate Elvis and the Stones, and only like a couple of Bruce albums. Three more stations that I will never listen to.

I like the Stones and Springsteen (not a big Elvis fan), so most of the single-artist channels work out well for me. However, I don't think they're really "pushing the envelope" as far as creating great radio goes. Their main function seems to be the excellent marketing opportunities that they provide (Graceland, Stones tour, Springsteen box set, etc).

I like Springsteen (I have all of his E Street Band CDs) so this is something I would listen to, especially to hear the deeper stuff that Sirius seems to be afraid of on other channels.

Losing the Bridge is a disappointment, but we'll see if it comes back in January.

I can dig that but Sirius single artist channels are targeted towards only one demographic audience.

sirius must be getting paid by the record companies for these channels.which is ok as im sure they need the money...

i just wish they would use one channel and rotate them.

I did some quick math. If you total the time it takes to play all of the Springsteen studio albums, it comes up to around 11 hours. So this means that they can play each of his albums twice a day and still have two hours left over to play live versions, or soundtrack songs, or crap that didn't make the cut on a regular album.

That is assuming you play all the songs from Lucky Town or Human Touch some of his weaker outings.

As much as I like him, is this really enough to justify a whole station??

I agree with others that say Sirius must be getting paid for this. It is just one long commercial. I can understand since they have been losing money since the start. Maybe this is the future of satellite radio and the only way for them to stay in business?

Looking forward to the Talking Heads station someday :-)

I was getting ready to switch to Sirius as soon as my XM subscription ran out (6 months from now), but the Springsteen station closed the deal for me now (BIG Springsteen fan). That and the Little Steven channel. When the new rebates are announced, I'm on board for a Starmate Replay.

This is my first post at Sirius Backstage Forum after lurking for a few days. Thanks to everyone who posts here and helped me get a "real feel" for Sirius.

I have a friend who was undecided about Stern.

The second I told him about Springsteen he said he wants to get Sirius before Nov 1.

This is one of those moves where no one will cancel their subscription because of it but will definitely add some new subscriptions.
