I love my Sirius, but if they dropped Fox News I would drop 3 of the 4 (Keep Lifetime) of my subscriptions and add one more XM subscription.

I want them to pick up Fox Radio like XM, I will be sending a letter to them right away!

from what I read the deal between sirius and fox is up at the end of the year. I would guess xm paid a nice chunk of change for that new fox news talk channel so this was basically fox's way of saying to sirius "shit or get off the pot" with these negotiations.

Sirius needs to pick up the Fox Talk channel. Get of Patriot if they have to, move Laura Ingram to Sirius Right.

Here is something I noticed tonight... I was watching Bill O'Reilly and after the Geraldo segment, Bill talked about a poll on his webite, and then plugged his next segment. Then, during the "going to commercial" music, there was a promo (on the TV screen only) for Geraldo At Large for about 5 seconds. Then there is another 5 second promo for Fox News Talk. You hear the announcer say "Fox News Talk" while on the screen the names of the various radio hosts are shown and the announcer says while showing on the screen "Coming January to XM Satellite Radio". This is all part of the FNC programming and on the feed to SIRIUS. Then they cut to commercial and that's when SIRIUS can choose to replace the TV ads with radio ads.

To me, I sorta see it like FNC is rubbing it in SIRIUS's face they dropped the ball by not getting this programming. Just my opinion though.

Just to clarify, haven't you posted several places that it's stupid to drop Sirius over one channel?

I think I said that I bought Sirius for more than one channel.

I would not drop Sirius all together, but I would add more XM and drop Sirius so that I could continue to have both available to me. I would have no use for Sirius in my office if it weren't for the talk/news feeds that they don't stream. So my one Sirius subscription tied to my Sportster Boombox would be canceled and I would add a XM radio that would allow me to listen at home.

I would also cancel Sirius in my car since 90% of my listening is talk/news and XM would then be a better fit for me with AAR, Fox News, Fox Talk, and MLB. I would then add a Commander to my Malibu so that I could get rid of the Starbase and the Skyfi2 in my car and have a clean install.

Don't look for me to act like a 5 year old if they drop Fox News and post that Sirius is stupid in every thread. I will always keep Sirius in my truck, and I would always listen online to music at Sirius.com

My last subscription is actually in my mother’s car and I am not sure how much they listen to Fox News, but if she wanted me to switch it to XM for her I would.

GSI: Get Sirius Info has learned that all the events from Thursday were caused by Sirius not airing the Alan Colmes radio show on Sirius Left on Tuesday night. Sirius is under contract to air Colmes radio show witch is syndicated by Fox News Radio. In its place on Tuesday and Wednesday night Sirius aired Stephanie Miller in his time slot. "They sort of (Sirius), unceremoniously and in apparent violation of the contract, took Alan Colmes off," said Fox News Radio senior vp Kevin Magee. "We figured, if they weren'‘t going to honor the contract, neither were we." Sirius said that it was an "Admin error"... Magee from FOX also added that the deal with Sirius involving the Fox News television and Fox News Radio ends at 11:59 Dec 31st 2005, unless successfully renegotiated. I'm also told that Sirius has to use a cable TV feed to get Fox News TV audio back on the air, and was blind sided by Fox..

Sending programming related questions to customer service is pointless. First of all, they're out of the loop. Customer service is handled by an outsourcing firm.

Yeah. Between Sirius Left AND two NPR channels, which I consider inherently left. That AND left leaning news channels like ABC News and CNN News. I haven't actually tuned into these channels but I assume they're there (they are listed on the sirius site, but then again so is Fox).

95% of Sirius is leftist already... two measly talk channels. Watch, they'll be next.

There was a thread about this last week sometime, I saw it last weekend. The ad is almost more of a commercial for XM than for Fox Radio. When I saw it the first time I remember thinking that it would be a serious mistake if something happened to FNC on Sirius.

You may consider NPR inherantly left, but there is no evidence that they actually are. And if you consider ABC News, which features Sean Hannity's and Larry Elder's shows, I'm not sure if you know the meaning of the word.

Nevertheless, if Sirius is under contract to air Alan Colmes, it was stupid to break the contract. I would guess something is screwed up in their programming department (or whatever you call the department that physically puts stuff on the air), because I've noticed they have broadcast two shows over each other (sometimes for hours) on several occasions.

So. i'm a fan of Fox and was looking forward to listening to them on Sirius. Not a subscriber, been following along on all the advise and heavily leaning towards the S50 before the end of the year.

My understanding at this point is that FOX was off temporarily Thursday, and the contract runs out end of this year. that correct?

The Fox News contract is scheduled to end on 12/31/2005, that is correct. Fox is trying to get Sirius to pick up the new Fox News Talk channel. Sirius already has 2 right wing talk channels and only one left wing one. With the addition of Fox Talk, that would be three right wing talk stations. There isn't another left wing one available as Air America is now XM exclusive. Even if there was, Sirius would then be in the position of either dropping Sirius Right or Patriot, or adding another leftish talk station.
