Well, again...

If we're talking about Fox News Channel for their--er--unique and fanciful take on the news, OK. Your argument there about some folks wanting to hear the tv audio in their cars was convincing.

But if we're talking about Fox Talk, fugetaboutit! All of the talkers you name are already on just about every talk station in every market in America on AM radio. I'd hate like hell to lose something truly unique on Sirius for this swill. Besides, Sirius is already heavy with right wing talk streams.

The ad doesn't say that you can't currently get Fox News on Sirius. It only mentions next year:

There's only one sure way to get Fox News Channel on satellite radio in '06. Subscribe to XM.

But if you are a Fox News Fan and you are looking at Satellite Radio whose name are you going to remember when you go to the store?

I sure hope SIRIUS doesn't get rid of FNC - I listen to it a lot, and it's definitely one of the advantages of having satellite radio and something I consider to be a value-add.

Yes I did. And it would still result in one channel too many of this material, IMHO. But it's just my opinion.

As I said at the outset, Sirius should certainly try to satisfy all reasonable tastes and interests. But for me, if having Fox meant there would be no available space for something I find more interesting/useful, I would not be sad to see Fox go, that's all--and would (understandably) rather see Fox go than something I like. Since I don't listen to Martha or EWTN, I wouldn't miss that either.

But other's would.... and that's ok. I doubt Sirius will drop Fox, unless they just try to drive too hard a bargain.

Fox Channel is the most popular news source on Cable today as their shows outrate all others--As per radio, the Rush, Shawn Hannidys are also the most listened to shows--Sirius would be making a real bad decision if they dont have the Fox News Channel on next year--The Fox Talk is a different story--They need to keep this on or will lose some subs

I think Fox will make it a all or nothing deal. This is why I think they need to put Fox News Talk in the place of Sirius Patriot. Fox News talks current line up is The Radio Factor with Bill O'Reilly, Tony Snow (already on Sirius Right, which means you put Laura Ingraham in that spot), John Gibson, and Allan Colmes (who is on Sirius Left, which leave a space for another Liberal Talker).

Sirius needs a AM live show, and I think Cam and Company NRA News would be great 6-9.

Default XM 3, Sirius 2

I think everyone has missed a big point so far.

Sirius currently has 2 major 24 hr US news channels- CNN and Fox.
XM has 3- MSNBC, CNN, and Fox.

If Sirius dumps Fox then what was a hole has become crater. Subs interested in news will dump Sirius for XM and new subs will choose XM over Sirius.

Whether or not you like Fox or not, there is still going to be a problem with keeping Subs who want 24 hrs news channels.
