Default Wendy's gets SIRIUS

Wendy's International signed an agreement with Clearwater-based AMTC to provide a select number of SiriusBusiness channels into the restaurants. The move will allow the restaurants from all over the country to choose from 67 channels of 24-hour, commercial free music from SIRIUS Satellite Radio using sound equipment provided by AMTC.

Dave MacLeod, senior vice president of franchise and customer technology services with Wendy's, said adding Sirius is part of the chain's cost-cutting measures designed to enhance profitability of the restaurant. "Remarkably, after evaluating our options and cost of the music programming on Sirius, we're convinced that this cost-reduction measure will help to both meet our business objectives and actually enhance our guest experience," said MacLeod in a release.

SIRUS is slowly but surely slipping into a lot of businesses out there. Just the beginning of good things to come.

I wounder why they didnt get IBN (in store broadcasting network) we have it at work. They can create a station per area or location in any sound or anything they want. Plus when a song ends a commerial plays whenever instead of in a middle of a song like muzak would. You dont have to use commerials but if they wanted to they can set up times ect the options are endless...

Also I like to add Muzaks FMOne Station sucks they think they can push it on all markets what sucks is its soo for old fogeys and boring your want to through a brick at the speaker lol

Horse meat is right. I wouldn't eat in any of the big burger chains if you paid me to do so. I recommend watching "Super Size Me" for further explanation on the subject.

I'm always glad to see SIRIUS getting more exposure, but something tells me this is going to do nothing but give them yet another excuse to censor even more music channels. Personally, I'd rather rather hear SIRIUS being played in unrestrictive business climates such as adult book stores, sex shops, strip clubs, S&M shops, tattoo parlors, piercing studios, etc. where explicit content would not be frowned upon...because it's always the current subscribers that end up losing in situations such as this. Why you ask? Because it draws in the family crowd which is usually much more apt to express their disconcert for "objectionable" content. Besides, I seriously doubt that the business service accounts for that many subscribers or that hearing "radio-edited" music is going to draw in that many new subscribers anyway. Just my two cents.

I wish I knew what kind of antenna they use that keeps the signal going. I have tried all kinds of external antennae and they always lose the signal 3 times per day as the satellites float around.

It is also important to note that XM for Business, Muzak, and Music Choice have no interruptions. Sirius Business plays the very same channels that regular Sirius members use--so you hear the "blip-bleep-blip Sirius Shuffle" and all the other channel sounders.

I don't think that it is appropriate for business audio to have any interruptions like that.
