Default Order A Christmas Present Direct From Sirius? Better Make Sure They Shipped It.


Sirius has made a small goof it seems. The Orlando Sentinel's business blog is reporting that one of the Sirius radios they ordered from shop.sirius.com on Monday with 'guaranteed two day shipping' did not ship until today and is not arriving until 12/26. While he is getting the radio for himself instead of a present, you might want to double check your ship dates for the radio to make sure that it will arrive in time for Giftmas. The author, Mark Chediak, says Sirius is giving him three free months, although I am not sure if that is part of a package deal he ordered, or if it is a 'sorry' from them. But, at least they spent that extra time wisely: There's a really well-done note that explains the package will be late.

Update: It appears that Mr. Chediak isn't the only person who had this problem. Backstage member Solidbaby reports having a similar experience trying to get a boombox from Sirius that he ordered back in November. Hope these are just a couple isolated incidents and not too widespread.

I ordered a new S50 on 12-19 as a gift.

Thanks to the Sirius "current subscriber discount" , and my AAA discount, I ordered a S50 w/ car kit and a home kit (and a Stern key chain) for 89.09 - that’s instant discount (no rebate necessary), and free shipping. very happy!

Now back on 12/19, when I ordered, they advertised free shipping and guaranteed delivery for xmas (by Friday 12/22).

Went to bed Friday night (last night) with no shipment confirmation, and order status still only showed the "processed" status.

I was very annoyed - as this is supposed to be a gift for the holidays.

Checked my e-mail this morning, and found a shipment confirmation.
I was still VERY annoyed - as I did not expect this shipment until the next business day - which is Tuesday the 26th.

at 11 am, there was a knock on the door, and UPS man had a Sirius box for me.
It turns out that it left their warehouse LATE Friday evening, and they shipped it over night with Saturday delivery.

Way to go Sirius! Good to their word!
I have been a happy Sirius customer for 3 years, and will continue to be.

I wonder how he got the 3 free months. Mine was with 3 day shipping and was ordered on 12/14. I didn't get it yesterday or today.

Yes. I called them on 12/19. The CSR verified that it shipped, but couldn't give me the tracking number in my email. On 12/20, I called back and was informed that it did not ship. I called later and was informed that it did ship and that I'll definitely get it by 12/22. I finally received an email that night around midnight. It was supposed to arrive on 12/22. When I called today, the CSR suggested I call UPS. I informed him that I did service with Sirius and I wanted to try to see if I could get a refund of some sort for my shipping. After a long time on the phone, I told him that I would probably refuse delivery and go out and purchase a radio that I could produce on Xmas. He told me that I could "show them a picture of what I was getting them and explain that it wasn't there in time." I asked how he would feel if he received a gift like that.
He told me that I needed to accept the package to properly do an RMA. I told him that it seemed like a lot of work and denying the package would be easier on my and take less time than they've already taken. The only thing he offered to do was give me a free month at $12.95. I took it and told him that I would discuss with the wife on the path to take for Xmas with the s50s and may still refuse the package and take it up with my CC....

I ordered a Sportster 2 for my brother on 12/16 for my brother. I never received an email saying it shipped, so I gave them a call on Friday. The person I talked to could give me no info at all, and said I should just wait for the email. I figured I wasn't going to get it before Christmas at that point...but then Saturday afternoon a package came UPS Saturday delivery from Sirius.

They upgraded the Sportster 2 to a Sportster 4 for free because they ran out of 2's, I guess. I still never received the email...but I am very happy with their effort to make sure I had my present for xmas. I only spent $50...and they gave me the better radio and expensive overnight shipping.

Well, my Stiletto order from Oct 8TH still hasn't shipped. I did go ahead and buy one at Best Buy to cover my butt, but it still bothers me. After about 12 phone calls, and I still can't get to the bottom of this. Who would think that a Christmas present ordered Oct. 8th (and shown shipping Oct 18th) would still not be here.

I had almost this exact same experience (Ordered an S50 12/14 three day shipping "free" guaranteed delivered by the 21st etc.

I asked for a supervisor who after a 20 minute wait had an attitude like I had wronged him.

Finally he offered free activation and three months of service which I accepted.

Miraculously there was an unexpected knock at the door on Saturday and it was UPS! apparently my complaints caused them to pop a Saturday delivery on it!

I called to activate and after being disconnected twice finally got someone who after 20 minutes said no freebies since I got it before Christmas. I told her it was only my complaints to UPS that got the Saturday delivery and since the beginning my order had been a mess, (I still had not been credited the 14.61 shipping)

I was transferred supopsedely to a supervisor but it was another csr that was not aware of the issues. Finally after 45 minutes I was talking to a supervisor that said he would honor the freebies and that I would not be charged for the activation and the 14.61 shipping would be credited to my cc.

But no. Not only have they not credetid the 14.62, they charged the 15.00 activation as well as 38.95 for three months @ 12.95 when this is an additional reciever which should be charged as such.

Again I call and they say they will credit my cc but instead they credited it to my account (the 14.61 shipping too)

I love the S50 and so does my Wife but this is no way to treat customers.

I ordered an S50 on the 13th. Never received any shipping confirmation, just the order conf. I called on the 19th to find out what the deal was. I inadvertently called sirius.com instead of shop.sirius.com. She told me the correct number. With incredibly questionable timing, I got an email 5 minutes later with the Tracking info. They sat on the order from the 13th until the 18th, then shipped it. I had bumped the shipping up to 2nd Day, they shipped it on the 18th and I got it on the 21st. Granted it came in time for xMas, but barely and without any comfort zone of time to make sure.

And I'm still cornfused on what 2nd Day Air means... Is that the second day after the first full day after the day the package has been shipped? If so, they were right on time...

Second Day is what you said... Monday arrives Wednesday, Tuesday arrives Thursday, etc. Weekends don't count for days IIRC, so Friday will arrive Tuesday.
