Yes, that is not a typo! Starting on December 31st/January 1st at Midnite Pacific Time, Rolling Stones Radio is off the air, The Who Channel is moving to channel 98, and The Bridge returns to being The Bridge. What does this mean for the three Globe fans who still subscribe to Sirius? The Globe will probably become a channel for artist-only showcases, as many have wanted for a long time. We will probably find out with the next lineup change. I'm sure I'm not the only person saying "So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye!" to Rolling Stones Radio.

Thanks Long Paul and Roadhog!

Good news

I think The Globe is gone for good.. If you tune to channel 98, the channel label on the display just says 'Sirius'. It stopped saying The Globe a few months ago.

But.. You can still access The Globe page on by typing It shows the rolling stones have taken over, but the Globe would be returning...

Goodbye Stones, and The Bridge gets rid of The Who!! Yes, at least The Globe might get to be a showcase for single artists and leave the Bridge alone!!!

The pain, the suffering....this is all too good to be true, and we've heard it all before and won't believe it till we hear it. But many of us have moved to XM anyway. Too late Sirius.

In defense of Sirius, the AP is reporting today that the top grossing concert tour (in a record breaking year) was....The Rolling Stones! Over a million concert-goers saw the Stones this year.
The Rolling Stones' "A Bigger Bang" tour, which actually began in the fall of 2005, led all other concert tours this year with $138.5 million in gross receipts, Pollstar said. The average Stones ticket was $136.63. The tour sold about 1.01 million tickets.

I'm one of the three Globe "fans" who got excited when I saw the headline and then read the story and have now given up.

Oh well.

A dedicated single artist station is a HUGE improvement *IF* Sirius sticks to it and doesn't hijack any other stations and *IF* they rotate through artist on a somewhat regular interval ... a year is way too long.

BTW, I'm the 2nd or 3 Globe fans (actually Horizon .... I don't know if the Globe actually ever played a single song) ..... Who's the third fan? We know your out there ....

This is a very welcome change for SIRIUS' business customers as well - The Bridge was the most popular channel we had. We're hoping for two "limited run" channels similar to what XM does, for the stuff like the Stones, Who, and maybe even the holiday channels. Also, count many of the business subscribers - particularly those in popular vacation destinations - among those who miss not only The Globe, but also Vacation (#97).

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I want "The Bridge" back!
The "artist only showcase" channel is a long overdue enhancement...hopefully that will be permanent. I think they should bring back "The Globe" too.
Looking for help on Sirius/XM??

Sirius (Canada) should update their channel guide on more frequently. The reason I chose Sirius was for the "World music" and Canadian channels. To my disappointment, when I turned to the Globe, I got Rolling Stones!

I rather have them both gone -_-

But, Stones > Who IMO. I rather have seen The Who Channel go. The Who shouldn't have their own channel. If anyone does it's Led Zeppelin.
