I am concerned about this also...it is my understanding that sirius counts their OEM subs as soon as the vehicle leaves the factory(xm does this differently) and so if the sub is not renewed by the vehicle owner that is when it becomes churn...its my understanding that sirius has a good # of subs that are due to count as churn within the next year...there by affecting sub #'s and slowing their ability to catch xm.

Well, almost nobody cares about NASCAR in NY. That's why it's not broadcast on terrestrial radio here to begin with.

I'm sure there will be people in NY here & there switching because of it... but there's no way there will be a mass exodus of NY subscribers because of NASCAR. Not sure what the interest level is like in New England.

I agree that NASCAR is a huge deal around the country, but not because NY.

Sirius is only down by 1.6 Million Subs, as of 1/5/07. I wonder how far back they will be when they release 4thQ results.

I'll assume by 1stQ Results of 07 that they'll only be down 1-1.3 million

At this point XM's net subscriber numbers are going up about the same speed as Dennis Weaver's overheating 1970 Plymouth Valiant clmbing a hill in the movie "Duel". SIRIUS' net subscribers seem to be climbing more like a F/A-18 Super Hornet just launched off a carrier deck somewhere in the Pacific. I'm looking at area of late January, early February of '08 for those numbers to be even.
